Decided to go before hand, made up our minds after first set.

We went to the show with a few other folks, some were suppose to come but then decided not to because we had to split up (in pairs) and find rides,so just me & Shannon went, she knew people at the show and in the USA so it was all good, people were expecting us.

Esau - A plus

Dark Starr - A (Would have given a higher score had Dark Star been included in that wonderful looking setlist)

Del - F minus (You are obviously on some kind of idiocy spreading rampage lately. "Morning Dew? I don't care..." add that to almost all of your recent comments, including those about Wilco/Ween, and its high time we trade you to another city. I may have to put you on Ignore. Remember all those harsh words you have about the Slip? My lord........)

Everyone else - B

Booche, this really saddens me... Of course I love Morning Dew, I just prefer Playin'... Every song mentioned on this thread is great. As for Ween, since you used to be my partner in hating them, and are a recent convert, I thought you'd have a little more compassion... (Harsh words about The Slip? I fu©king love The Slip, they're all we have left...).

Jaimoe, I never said I didn't like MMJ, I said I haven't gotten into them - yet... Let me try out BSS for a bit before I tackle MMJ...

Playing in the Band is a favorite of mine instrumentally, but not lyrically.

The Attics Of My Life or Brokedown Palace would be choices for the slow jam part of the evening

Again, for mouth feel:

Sitting in Mangrove Valley chasing lightbeams

Everything wanders from baby to Z

Baby, baby, pretty, young on Tuesday

Old like a rum drinking demon at tea

Baby, baby, tell me what's the matter

Why, why tell me, what's your why now?

Tell me why will you never come home?

Tell me what's your reason if you got a good one

Everywhere I go

The people all know

Everyone's doin' that rag

Take my line go fishing for a Tuesday

Maybe take my supper, eat it down by the sea

Gave my baby twenty, forty good reasons

Couldn't find any better ones in the morning at three

Rain gonna come but the rain gonna go, you know

Stepping off sharply from the rank and file

Awful cold and dark like a dungeon

Maybe get a little bit darker 'fore the day

Hipsters, tripsters,

real cool chicks, sir,

everyone's doin' that rag

You needn't gild the lily, offer jewels to the sunset

No one is watching or standing in your shoes

Wash your lonely feet in the river in the morning

Everything promised is delivered to you

Don't neglect to pick up what your share is

All the winter birds are winging home now

Hey Love, go and look around you

Nothing out there you haven't seen before now

But you can wade in the water

and never get wet

if you keep on doin' that rag

One eyed jacks and the deuces are wild

The aces are crawling up and down your sleeve

Come back here, Baby Louise,

and tell me the name

of the game that you play

Is it all fall down?

Is it all go under?

Is it all fall down, down, down

Is it all go under?

Everywhere I go

the people all know

everybody's doin' that rag

I also liked the way my mouth moves during China Cat Sunflower. I was always eating shitloads of mushrooms while listening to it though...bit of a bias there.

I never hated Ween, I hated the over-play-them-the-folks-will-be-forced-to-love-them campaign.

Looks like it worked though.

That's 'cause your soft... I refuse to fall for these tactics... They can keep pushing them, I'll never break... As for the Slip, I NEVER said I hated them... I said they were a little too slow for me... Once I actually spent some time finding something other than the Monkey Man song from CTMF (which is actually Back In 15 Minutes), which seemed to be the ONLY song anyone ever wanted to play for me by The Slip, I was hooked...

Dissin' Playin'? puh-lease, it's easily as primal as Dark Star when they get out there, and it's a lyrical treat, Del = A+, you are a man of true intellect and substance, a tip of the hat to you sir.

I would probably say my current favourite is the full Weather Report Suite (see Dead Movie bonus songs), but I've also got quite an '85 Mississippi Half Step thing goin' on lately as well...check out Red Rocks - Sept '85

Mississippi Half Step 9.7.85 (Mp3)

OH - my favourite Playin' 10.2.77 Portland.....ELECTRIC!!!!

Playin' in the Band 10.2.77 (mp3)

Playin' is up there with Shakedown as one of my least favourite songs..

Thanks for jogging my memory... I've been racking my brain knowing there was a song I was forgetting... SHAKEDOWN STREET!!!

I fu©kin' love that song.

I'd put Playin' in my top 5. It's the best Bobby song.

Box of Rain

Does Help > Slip > Franklin's count as one song?

Truckin' because it's quintessential.

Ruben and Cherise if that counts.

The Other One.

Ok, now I've got it... the greatest Grateful Dead song of all time has to be Eyes of the World.
