[color:"red"]Jazz, jungle, disco, funk, dub, techno…it’s all about a groove. What keeps it engaging is improvisation. It keeps changing. It never stops. It’s at the heart of all great music…and it’s in the DNA of the members of the Chameleon Project.

Touring heavy between 2002 and 2003, Chameleon Project suffered the loss of their bass player late last year. Now with a revamped band and hot new bass player... The Chameleon Project is now ready to take the music and touring to a new level.

Yeah this show is gonna be tight in all the right ways. There will be vinyl giveaways, and phat beats all night long.

DJ Syrum will also be there spinning Jungle, IDM and breaks to big up the vibe.

This is also the first Chameleon Project show after a brief hiatus and the aquasition of new supersonic-funktastic bass player Snappy Homefry...........Yes, Snappy Homefry.

Everyone will be coming out the woodwork for this vinyl release which is the first in a series of spring/summer gigs that kicks the band into high gear.

Y'all ain't ready fo' this..see ya there!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, March 15, 2005

“The Chameleon Project is back and this time they’re packing vinyl from T.O.”

(Toronto, ON) – After a brief winter hiatus the Chameleon Project (CP) returns with a new 12” vinyl release on Reptile Vision Records (RVR). To kick off their return to the stage the Project is booked to perform a special vinyl release event at the El Mocambo, in downtown Toronto on Friday April 15th. Doors open at 9pm with support from local breaks trio Nautilus, jam-band Jomomma and DJ Syrum spinning drum & bass, breaks and IDM in the urban Lounge. CP hits the stage at midnight

The 12” vinyl release (RVR-008) is the first for the newly founded label, Reptile Vision Records. Reptile Vision was founded to release all past and future CP recordings, and to foster the development of live electronica, and intelligent dance music of all stripes. RVR and The Chameleon Project will also be represented at the Winter Music conference (WMC) in Miami, where the label will make it’s official US debut and begin distribution.

Then hot on the heels of the WMC the Project will return to Toronto, for it’s long awaited live performance, and hometown vinyl launch at the El Mocambo on April 15th. This will be the first in a series of shows for what is shaping up to be a busy spring/summer for the Chameleon Project. (updates & details at www.chameleonproject.com)

“The Chameleon Project is back and it is their goal and that of Reptile Vision Records to push electronic music and jazz out of stagnation and into new vital territory by any means necessary.”

All interested press and djs who require guest list access and promo copies of the vinyl please R.S.V.P. to the contact info above.

  • 2 weeks later...

I just returned from the Miami Winter Music Conference, which is the largest meeting of DJs, producers and elkectronic music artists in the world, and the Chameleon Project vinyl was well recieved and was turning heads.

The best response was from DJs, promoters and record labels in the UK.

The Chameleon Project will be heading there eventually.

BUT FIRST WE MUST ROCK THE EL MOCAMBO SO HARD IT TAKE OFF INTO SPACE!!!!!!!!!! on April15th
