DevO
We Jul 27 - GEOFF BERNER/FORD PIER (alt-country)I caught both these guys at Hillside on the weekend and loved it. Thanks to Polkaroo for suggesting Geoff Berner! He's an odd ball thats for sure, great to see onstage. I didn't see his full set but saw him in a few workshops. Ford Pier was good too.. The workshop he did with some of the BSS folks, he was throwing in some of the most interesting harmonic accents on his guitar.Buck 65 is in town the same night, but I figure the cover will be cheaper at this one, and I'm broke! whiteymuseum
whats with the wednesday jimmy swift shows? thast 2 now in a row i believethat is correct. basically, the agent calls and asks for a certain date, and I give it to them. Wednesday definitely isn't my preference, but the agent will have his logic for routing Hamilton on a Wednesday.

shainhouse
A frequent used word that is NOT actually a word is...duh duh duh....COMMODIFICATION.(not a word)Dave,The term 'climate' cannot be used as an adverb, because a noun cannot describe a verb. It's just unfeasible. I guess if you're writing in a communications theory journal though, anything goes. commodificate that!

DevO
Geoff Berner / Ford Pier was definitely NOT sold out last night either. I got there a bit late I guess, but unfortunately they called it quits around 12:15. I caught one song. The place was looking rather sparse to say the least! Too bad all those peeps in the lounge didn't step inside to see these great musicians.Headed down to the Underground to see if we could get into Buck 65 for the last few songs at about 1:10am.. Buck was out the door just as we were heading in! I guess it was an early night all 'round in the Hammer.

It's tough to swallow, as for me they are two of the nation's most talented performers.Headed down to the Underground to see if we could get into Buck 65 for the last few songs at about 1:10am.. For all-ages shows, parents appreciate it. And for the working-crowd, they appreciate it too.
