Opinions on the new Video Ipod

Thinking of getting one for Xmas and was wondering what people thought about it, if anyone has already bought one, pros cons. I hate Apple and all that they stand for so I'm a little wary to purchase anything they sell, but it does look like a sweet contraption.

IT's an iPod, which i think is a very fantastic way of having portable music. And it supports video. I wouldnt' get it as a video player though, but that's a major added feature.

It looks awsome. All signs point that way at least. I agree I wouldn't use the video feature as I'd imagine it eats through battery power and memory.

Before you knock the video - you can do video out to the TV... which means if I could find somewhere to buy the cords, and figure out how to get it on my IPOD, I could take Phil @ Vegas with me and show people elsewhere.... in that regard I think the video will come in handy..

I can probably take any DVD from someone's home too and bring it home then watch it... new way to borrow stuff.

I'm not sure, but you may need a 3rd party utility to put non-appley stuff on the iPod video. Regardless, when you have vids, it does have a standard video out jack and line out/headphone jack so you can totally share cool vids. However, as mentioned before, you'll need to replenish the power more frequently from displaying vids. That's no biggie though. The power adapter/usb thingy will keep you going, if they still ship them with it.
