Velvet
No More is a 45 second film about homelessness, filmed this summer in Ottawa.
Lazlo
I found the Ottawa homeless to be angrier and much more agressive than the Hamilton breed. One of them actually grabbed my arm, thought I'd have to kill him.Is 45 seconds how long it took you to beat him down?
Velvet
You'll just have to see it to find out Laz.
Lazlo
As I look into my crystal ball I can see that that will most likely never happen. Unless of course it finds its way on here.

bradm
All I'll say is this: my PR flack is working on a press release, and there may be legal action, concerning the director's decision to leave my scenes on the cutting room floor.Aloha,Brad
Im going home Donny
...and now back to the homeless. and our local, shining, talent machine star; mr Dave Lauzon.
SteveThe Owl
Just some quick little notes to bring you up to date...We have made changes to DustyOwl.com to better describe the Chocolate House -- there are still a couple of typos and a litle missing info, so feel free to email me if you have further questions. We have already begun receiving donations for the Food Bank. If you can't make it, but want to send on some money, contact me or you can cut out the middle man and get ahold of the The Ottawa Food Bank directly.[H]ave each (and every) item you bring get you a draw ticket, and then draw tickets for posters (or maybe other prizes to be donated by people). This is really a cool idea but it doesn't fit in with the plans we have already made (note to bradm: we may ask you to help plan next year's Chocolate House). Dr_Evil_Mouse
Am very jazzed now on getting to this. All it took were the words, "porno-funk".

StaggerLee
Hey Bradm, any chance of you taping this event? Some of us Nero fans in far-flung corners of the world would love to here what Dave's playing these days. Wish I could be there.
bradm
I'm planning on taping it. I'll be checking with Dave as to whether he'll be OK with distributing it or not (which may have to wait until after he gets a copy and gives it a listen).Aloha,Brad
StaggerLee
You rock. My cd collection is already fat with great shows you've taped. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this one sees the light of day.
gentlemonkey
Looking forward to seeing Pablo do his new thing at Swizzles! And hopefully see Todd's film too... It's ten items; we will try to get that clarified on the website soon. We also request (on an entirely voluntary basis) that you bring food that is certified organic or health-oriented -- I mean ten cans of No-Name creamed corn is fine, but... Organic canned goods seem to be in the 3.00-3.99 range (x 10)= is up to 40.00 worth of food.. Is the poster glow-in-the-dark or someting?
Im going home Donny
Obviously all organic is best but...I think for those who can't afford to do this you can still get decent food that isn't 'no-name'creamed corn-bottom quality.Mabey mostly middle quality with a few organic kinda thing?I know when I'm hungry I become an opportarian pretty quilkly. SteveThe Owl
Ah, I knew the request for organics would be an issue. Friends, let me clarify a little... Organic canned goods seem to be in the 3.00-3.99 range (x 10)= is up to 40.00 worth of food.. Is the poster glow-in-the-dark or someting? Please keep in mind that in my earlier post I asked (on an entirely voluntary basis) that you bring food that is certified organic or health-oriented (emphasis added). I should be clear that it goes without saying that donations are on a freewill basis, and the request for organic goods is a guideline. You will not be turned away if you do bring ten cans of canned corn or tomato paste. Thanks for the part-organic-part-regular suggestion, howler! FYI: we got the idea from the BSC at Bluesfest; I actually shelled out twenty-five bucks for half-and-half organic/regular stuff for their poster -- and I've lost the poster! Oy! And, by the way, gentlemonkey, the posters are going to be handcrafted (Cathy is stencilling each of them) and numbered (and Pablo gets #1!). We do hope you like them. Unfortunately, they got the date wrong, but I've already emailed to let them know. By the way, big thanks go to bradm for posting word about this event on jamhub.ca  ! One more thing: in case you're wondering, the Dusty owl webmistress has updated our page about this event on DustyOwl.com. It not only has a neat pic of Dave (thanx bouche! ) but a better list of what the Food Bank needs. Drop in if you get the chance: www.dustyowl.com/whatsnew.htm. Hope to see you on the 18th. Peace. SteveThe Owl
Last quick word about Sunday: Even though the weather's supposed to be nicer, we ask that you not take any chances on the road.If you think you'll be drinking -- or will be otherwise impaired -- leave your car at home. Cab service to the area around Swizzles is excellent, and the bus stops for the transitway are just around the corner.Email me if you need more info. Hoot-hoot. Dr_Evil_Mouse
Wow. Do it again!I realised half-way through the set that my eyes were getting red and dry because I'd relegated blinking to some second-order operation, wanting instead to follow everything that was going on onstage. Very nice set, in other words.Good on Steve for setting this up. Great seeing everyone.
