CyberHippie
I saw the *best* movie last night. "The Call of Cthulhu" based on HP Lovecraft's story. It's a new release, but they did it in a 1920's style b/w silent film. I've never seem a movie like this, but the story telling was so effective. One of the best movies I've ever seen, a stellar adaptation of a great story!!http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478988/Silent Film is a lost genre, I had no idea how much I'd like it.I hear you can download the movie here:http://ts.searching.com/torrent/529934/The_Call_Of_Cthulhu_2005_DVDRip_Xvid_RKN
mattm
That shows how much I know. I thought it was just a Metallica song. On those lines, a great movie to watch is the one from Metallica's One video: Johnny Got His Gun I watched it in french in Paris but it was still just as effective. Were there a lot of seeders for this? I can't download anything until monday but wouldn't mind watching it after reading the imdb blurb.

Jaimoe
I love Lovecraft too. There's been some great Lovecraft based films made over the years. Cult movie director Stuart Gordon is obsessed with Lovecraft. If you like cult horror films in the Evil Dead vein, check out Gordon's The Re-Animator. I fucking love that film. The sequels are pretty good, but the original is just as good in style, dark humour and horror (and budget!) as The Evil Dead II: http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=1:40416~CHere's a bio of Stuart Gordon from All Movie Guide:http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=2:92122~C
CyberHippie
I remember seeing the reanimator when I was quite young. I also remember another one, I can't remember what it was called, or which story it was about. But, had something to do with a machine that stimulated the pituitary gland (3rd eye) and you could see into another dimension where other creatures lurked... Cool movie. So I recived a personal thank you note for purchasing the Cthulhu DVD. You sure won't get that from paramount.
Jaimoe
The Re-Animator had a really good transfer to DVD treatment from a couple of years ago. Tons of bells and whistles. Check out the DVD specs. If the DVD wasn't so expensive, and I mean it's $40+ bucks, I would have picked it up: http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=16:E|23720~C Jeffrey Combs is a great cult actor. Davey Boy 2.0
and in other news007 director makes sex case deal Lee Tamahori directed Die Another Day and Mulholland Falls Film director Lee Tamahori has pleaded no contest to criminal trespass in exchange for two prostitution charges being dropped, US authorities said. The New Zealander was arrested for allegedly soliciting a police officer in Los Angeles while dressed in drag. Tamahori, 55, was given three years probation, 15 days community service and must take an Aids awareness course. "He's pleased with the outcome, and he's back at work," Tamahori's lawyer Mark Geragos said. The Die Another Day director was arrested on 8 January after allegedly offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer taking part in a prostitution sting in Hollywood. Police confirmed at the time that he was wearing a black off-the-shoulder dress and a wig. Los Angeles' City Attorney's office spokesman Frank Matelijan said the plea deal meant two charges of solicitation and loitering with intent to commit prostitution were dismissed. As part of his community service Tamahori will be working on projects to help clean up Hollywood. "It is a project where convicts clean the streets in Hollywood and paint out graffiti," said Mr Matelijan. Tamahori also directed action sequel XXX: State of the Union, Once Were Warriors and Mulholland Falls.
