THE STRING CHEESE INCIDENT ANNOUNCES COMPLETE SUMMER TOUR.

LOOK FOR THEM AT RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATRE FOR

FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND, IN ALASKA FOR A RUN OF SHOWS, AT JAPAN'S FUJI ROCK, AND PERFORMING WITH

BOB WEIR & RATDOG ON SELECT DATES.

The String Cheese Incident has long been known for their over-the-top live shows. The band's tour last summer, dubbed as the Big Summer Classic, recently won the award "Best Tour of 2005" by the Jammys, an organization reputed as recognizing the country's top touring acts.[/blurb]

This summer is no different for SCI. After some time off since New Years to revitalize and re-inspire, The String Cheese Incident now announces their tour plans for the summer months ahead. Look for the band on both coasts, and in between, with special musical guests joining them at various stops along the way. Summer tour highlights involve several dates with Bob Weir & RatDog, including Fourth of July weekend at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where Keller Williams and Taj Mahal will also join the bill. Bob Weir & RatDog and SCI will share the stage for 14 dates total, until SCI catches up again with Keller at the 10,000 Lakes Festival, where they'll join each other for a rare "Keller Incident." The band will also stop in Alaska for a couple shows on their way to Japan for the tenth annual Fuji Rock Festival. The summer tour will wrap up with a three night blow out at the beautiful Cuthbert Amphitheater in Eugene, Oregon. SCI is looking forward to collaborating with PEAK Experience Productions for those shows and special guests are still to be announced.

The String Cheese Incident has emerged as one of today's most significant independent bands. Born in 1993 in Colorado's Rocky Mountains, SCI has since released 6 albums, 3 DVDs and countless live recordings from their relentless tour schedule. Their relatively short history is packed full of surreal experiences, epic moments, groundbreaking involvement and huge accomplishments. They have been recognized for their commitment to musical creativity and integrity, for their community spirit and philanthropic endeavors, and for their innovative approach to the business of music. And their journey has only just begun.

The band's most recent studio release, One Step Closer, was released in 2005. On the album SCI divulge their genuine songwriting voice, and it's every bit as ambitious as you'd expect. Recorded at a friend's home in the hills of Colorado's Front Range, and produced by Malcom Burn (Bob Dylan, Chris Whitley, Emmylou Harris, Daniel Lanois), the album's 13 songs are gritty, free-wheeling and powerfully honed. With each member contributing their part, the collection reveals another masterful breakthrough from one of today's most visionary and talented rock bands.

No Canada date but the bolded one up there is pretty damn close and for $20 or so, that's not too shabby. Just thought I'd bump this since I'm rather excited about it (new to the cheese).

And given the tendency of all involved to occasionally ham it up we could have...bacon cheese dogs!*

Aloha,

Brad

* Family recipe for "hot dogs supreme": pan-fry bacon until almost done. Cut a lengthwise vee into hot dogs, and fill the vee with sharp old cheddar cheese. Spiral-wrap the dogs in the almost-done bacon, secure bacon with toothpicks. Broil until done.
