LJFH
I downloaded this but don't know how to convert it so that I can actually watch it? Can anyone tell me how to do this?"movie title". HDTV.Xvid-LoL.torrent
d_rawk
You don't need to convert it, you just need an XVID codec.
LJFH
ok, got that, now what?
d_rawk
Install it ... double click on the file you downloaded or whatever and follow through the steps. It might ask you to reboot afterwards, not sure. Then you should be able to watch the movie in whatever software you normally use to watch video (Windows Media Player, etc..) bouche
xvid is basically the same codec (coder decoder) as divX (notice it's a backwards acronym!) which is also MPEG4. It's a pretty damn high quality compression system for video and audio and it's open-source, meaning that it's WIDELY used in the bittorret and warez world.read a bit more hereAs the D-man said, download the codec for Xvid and you should be able to just open the video in Microsoft Media Player as it's really just a file that can understand the compression system.soooo...what'd you download LJFH? bradm
"movie title". HDTV.Xvid-LoL.torrentHow big is this file? If it's actually a torrent file, it's not a movie itself, it's a file that a BitTorrent client can use to get the movie from other BitTorrent users. (Movies should be gigabytes; torrent files kilobytes.)Aloha,Brad
paisley
a ".torrent" file is actually just the initial torrent file that points your bittorrent client (program) towards the actual file(s) you're really trying to acquire Edited August 21, 2006 by Guest BradM beat me to it...
