When I lived in London, there was a Dead cover band called Cosmic Charlie. Is that what you're talkin' about?? That was in 2001 but I think they'd been around for a long time. They played to a crowd of about 10 of us and afterwards we sat around drinking as they grumbled on about the low turnouts.

That's pretty funny - I saw that same cover band when I was in London, too. Winter of '99 IIRC.
