afro poppa
I think yes, he is a guy who can be a great pitcher, sure he is expensive, but he has a one year contract and we have proven that we can afford it. When healthy, he is a dominating force. What are the odds??? hey ya never know..
Jaimoe
I think no. He's lost velocity on his fastball and he's waaay too expensive for a diminishing payoff.

afro poppa
true, but what about when you consider our other alternatives:1) sticking with what we've got2) trading rios (or equilavent) and mcgowan (or equilavent) for a dan haren (or equivalent)I can't imagine it taking that kind of package to get randy...still your right, hes skills have definately diminished
Jaimoe
The Jays lit up Randy last year. Imagine the Yanks or Red Sox facing Randy if he pitched for the Jays. They'd light him up like a burning school house.
afro poppa
Yea I know, but Jays better do something because right now, this offseason, they've taken a step back.
Hal Johnson
Last year they won a ton of games even with Burnett and Halliday out from time to time. With both of them healthy and Chacin being healthy theyll have a solid first three guys. The next 2 are toss ups and might suck, but by no means will be as bad as Towers was. I would really love to see them ink a sloid reliever or two, but to go after Johnson seems rather silly. Then again, he'd be a great, extremely overpaid fourth starter. Jaimoe
The money that the Giants paid Barry Zito today is insane, especially since Zito's best days are behind him. Randy has even a worse upside than Zito, even though he'd come at a considerably lower price.
The Chameleon
No Randy, unless it was at a great price.
