Big Wooly Mammoth
the rest is expected to be opened by Friday. It takes longer for the canal near the NAC to freeze as it's narrower and thus has a stronger current.
Velvet
I was all excited to skate to work today but it looks like the canal hasn't been cleared of snow.People are still skating on it, but won't the snow make it kinda suck?

Kanada Kev
where do people go to get skates sharpened? Go to a local hockey arena. They know what they are doing and won't wreck your blades.

adambrot
I live right on the canal at the Pretoria bridge so the access for skating is incredible! I just got back from a round trip to Dow's lake (I was only gone from the apartment for one hour!). It's nice to have the other part open but it's pretty rough in parts. Especially in the dark, it was an added challenge to navigate around the potholes and ruts. Xtreme skating indeed!cheersadambrot
Gateaux
Valiquette sports on Carling is the place to get your skates sharpened, they are ninjas in there.Hit it up tonight and the ice is good, some chunky spots but fun. Kinda weird the city would decide to renovate the main floor of the pavillion right before Winterlude??
