Dr_Evil_Mouse
I don't find myself worked up towards many kinds of food these days, but I just happened across a picture of one of these, and got a bit of a craving. Anybody know somewhere in Ottawa you can get an authentic dosa? Edited March 28, 2007 by Guest

AdamH
You can get one at ceylonta and I would bet Coconut Lagoon ( Keralan restaurant) would have them. Some of the North Indian restaurants may also but to be honest South Indian food is fresher and more interesting. They are delicious indeed and I haven't had one in years.A dosa is a crepe made with lightly fermented rice and lentil flour. It's good plain or stuffed with something..I'm a fan of the egg curry version.
Dr_Evil_Mouse
Thank you! Will check those places out for sure. Agreed on the southern Indian food, AH - maybe it's all the coconut or something, but I always default to that over north Indian. I'm partial to the old standby, the masala dosa. As long as there's coconut chutney, it's good.
AD
I have no idea what you people are talking about. You can't just make stuff up.
Ms Zimmy
Ceylonta is one of my top 5 restaurants in Ottawa. Love it there, and inexpensive! The Hoppers are great and so is the Veg Thali For AD

bagochips
Just hearing the word "dosa" make me hungry. A lot of Indian resaurants in Ottawa serve them as part of their Sunday brunch only. The Ceylonta makes the best in town. If you live in the east end, the Coconut Lagoon is als wicked and fairly cheap, but packed at dinner time.
