Kanada Kev
I haven't had a brisket for a few months now. My dad usually brings one back from Schwartz's every once and a while and we chow down like crazy on it (with rye, mustard and a Pepsi of course ) Best fucking pickles around too! Big Wooly Mammoth
Schwartz's is the best. Whenever I get to Montreal I try to bring back a brisket for the freezer. That's a smoked brisket, which is basically what corned beef is. You can roast a brisket, which is a traditional Jewish Holiday dinner. It's basically roast beef. Had some last night, and will have it again tonight (still need to cook a potato kugel for tonight).
Kanada Kev
Yup. Good stuff. It's so much better to heat up the brisket from Schwartz's by steaming it, IMHO. Sticking it in the oven tends to dry it out. My dad went out and picked up a deli meat slicer the last round we had . Damn ... i'm hungry Chag ha-Matzoth
