Basher
I would expect a second show in Toronto will be ready to roll should the first one sell out quickly. Been so long since I have seen Bruce (SkyDome, 93?). Might want to check this one out.
Kanada Kev
Do it ... that Skydome '93 show was fluff. Nothing at all like an E-Street show. (the Skydome show where they opened the roof, and right after Warren Zevon's death, was spectacular). Definite value for your concert dollar at work here for sure Edited August 28, 2007 by Guest

Northern Wish
Well at 3200 seats in the Bird, and 19800 in the ACC.........you might be surprised when tickets go on sale at least 6x what they are going to be at the larger venue. Basher
This is an arena tour - it is unreasonable to be uspet that he is not playing a tiny venue. I think it goes without saying that we would all like to see our favourite "big" acts at small venues.
AD
civic centre is a small venue compared to the scotiabank place. until tickets go on sale i refuse to believe he'd play ina small arena when he previously sold out 2 nights (at least, i can't remember) at the big arena. Kanada Kev
I've seen him play smaller venues, but they weren't for E-Street tours:Massey Hall - Ghost of Tom Joad 1995Fox Theater Detroit - Devils & Dust 2005Cobo Hall Detroit - Vote for Change 2004Bruce with the E-Streeters KICKASS in arenas, and can pull it off in stadiums too. Northern Wish
Seriously of all of the acts playing out there I think he is the only one that can hold the attention and fill the space of an arena or stadium......Its like a Pearl Jam show, where the band is having as much fun as the crowd! Northern Wish
There is still confusing surrounding this. 24 Hours printed that the show is at the Civic Center- this product is produced by the SAME folks at the Sun.Who knows, but I sure do hope its at the Civic Center- if only for ease of access not size of the venue.S
AD
"ease of access" assumes you can get tickets which is not an easy assumption in ottawa. i believe his last scotiabank shows sold out in under ten minutes.
AD
The Boss will play, but where?Peter Simpson, The Ottawa CitizenPublished: Wednesday, August 29, 2007Bruce Springsteen is bringing the E Street Band back to Ottawa, but where the band will play is a source of confusion. The Boss's record label, Sony/BMG, announced yesterday the show will be Oct. 14 at the Civic Centre -- prompting many fans to ask, "Why not Scotiabank Place?"The Bank is available that night, according to scotiabankplace.ca, and can hold upwards of 20,000 fans, as it did for Springsteen's sold-out show with the E Street Band in 2003. The Civic Centre can hold fewer than 10,000. Furthermore, a spokesman for the City of Ottawa, which owns the Civic Centre, said there's no deal for a Springsteen show there. Yet a spokesman for Sony/BMG insisted there will be. All fans know for sure is, as the Boss himself sang, "there's something happenin' somewhere, baby, I just know that there is."The surprise about an artist of the Boss's stature playing a venue as small as the Civic Centre led to much speculation yesterday, including unsubstantiated reports that the show was booked with a guarantee of a much larger outdoor show next summer at Frank Clair Stadium -- where the crowd for the Rolling Stones, two years ago yesterday, flirted with 45,000.Springsteen's new CD with the E Street Band, Magic, will be released Oct. 2. The first single, Radio Nowhere, is available as a free download at iTunes.Springsteen's last visit to Ottawa was for a solo show at Scotiabank Place in 2005. All 7,000-odd tickets sold quickly, despite it being in the middle of Bluesfest. A violent thunderstorm brought an early end to Bluesfest that night, and the Springsteen show switched to generators when power went out at the Bank. The Boss seemed delighted.Tickets for the Oct. 14 show go on sale Sept. 10.
Booche
You're on it AD. Bruce sold out damn fast which has made this Civic Center possibility remote right from the word "Civic".Still, I say "Wow"Scoring tickets to that gig would be wonderful.
