OB1
I know this was posted before but I don't want to search. I need advice on how to score a nice cheap hotel. It never seems to work. OB

Northern Wish
This has been posted and discussed at least 5 or 6 times in the past 6 months.Even using the quick search function I get 6 pages of relevant hits.Use Name Your Own Price for hotels, create an account, and bid. Then stay cheap. It really is that simple.........Sean

Big Wooly Mammoth
and be patient - if you have the time. I booked a hotel for Secaucus, NJ recently (just across the river from Manhattan). It took about a week of increasing my bid by about $2 a day. Big Wooly Mammoth
www.betterbidding.comI tried that - the most recent rates were a couple of months old. there wasn't actually that much for the areas that I wanted. but they provided me with a starting point at least. I ended up paying $81 for a Hyatt Place/Amerisuites (Hyatt bought the latter, and changed them all to Hyatt Place hotels. Great room with a 42" flat screen HD tv. The outside still said Amerisuites as the lobby was still under construction, and the official reopening was a few weeks away, but I digress.). The online rate was around $190, so it was still a great deal.
