Jaimoe
I can't remember what player it was, but someone, it might have been Jeff Francis or Bay, was urging Martin to play for Canada during the past baseball year. At the time, Martin never considered it.
Hal Johnson
If he doesnt play then Pete Laforest will catch (I assume). All due respect to Pete, but he's a career minor-leager. Hopefully Martin sees that everyone else is playing and, oh ya, it's in Canada, and changes his mind.

Hal Johnson
Canada's Preliminary Roster  Looks like Dempster declined. Luckily, Santana may not play for Ven.
Jaimoe
Keep and eye on Brett Lawrie. He was the highest ever Canadian drafted (16th overall in the '08 draft) and even made it to the Bigs last year as an 18-year-old with the Brewers. Jaimoe
Will do.Im worried about our SP.So am I, but the US has sent their B-team and seem disinterested in general. Cetainly folks in the US won't be watching, or care, just like the last Classic, which will help Canada. It also helps that March Madness starts rolling around then.Anyway, I'm going to five games. See you there?

Jaimoe
The rest of the world is not disinterested though. The ratings were very impressive worldwide last time out. I got the tickets for Christmas. I do love those Canuck jerseys. Edited January 20, 2009 by Guest

Schwa.
Mickey, I'm certain that we aren't getting a hotel but if you wanna meet up for some pints at a pub somewhere i'm definitely IN.
LXQ42
If that's the case, we should do pre pint, get a nice buzz on for the game and be sober enough to travel home!

It's now a Filthy McNasty's, which is even worse. There's far better pub options in the area that aren't for tourists, ginos and frat boys.
Hal Johnson
Haha, yes, the PP was exactly as you described it. The gigantic pitcher's though added a certain charm to it. But Im not surprised at all that it's gone. Edited January 24, 2009 by Guest
Jaimoe
I'll recommend the Friar & Firkin or The Fox & Fiddle on John, or even Gabby's or the Elephant & Castle, both on King near John.
