Tom has got to be fuckin kidding. Isn't this the guy who tried to get the record companies to lower the cost of CD's and write an entire concept album about the sad, greedy, commercial state of the music industry?

I call shenanigans.

Good show.

I never liked CSN first time around and nothing they did Wednesday night changed that. Mind you, judging from the response of the crowd, I was in an obvious minority. Also, the sound in the ACC is brutal for a band that depends on three-part harmony, so at times it was hard to tell if the problem was theirs or the venue's.

Tom was in fine form. Put on a great show...not Neil Young great, but great nonetheless. We listened to Mojo going up in the car, so I had an idea of what to expect come that part of the set. I enjoyed it more than the hits. From the get-go the Heartbreakers have been a one of the tightest rock outfits around. The presence of Benmount Tench and Mike Campbell continue to ensure that and the new material really gives them an opportunity to strut their stuff.

Was it worth the price? Tough call. Petty is one of the few artists of his era to be able to command this kind of money. He's been nothing if not consistent and what he does he still does very well. I doubt I would pay that much to see him do it again, but I know lots would. Like deranger, I can't shake the irony of an artist who once fought so hard to make his music accessible to everyone, now pricing it out of the range of so many.
