TheSloth
I've heard rumblings about the NHL wanting a piece of the KHL, Ottawa to Novosibirsk. You heard it here first kids.

Booche
Well, I surely spoke like it would never happen (you could have won a ton of easy money from me Roller) and considering the source...........An agreement to sell the National Hockey League’s Atlanta Thrashers to a Winnipeg group which plans to relocate the franchise to the Manitoba capital is done. Sources confirmed Thursday night that preparations are being made for an announcement Tuesday, confirming the sale and transfer of the Thrashers to True North Sports and Entertainment, which owns and operates the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League and the MTS Centre arena, which would become the NHL team’s new home. Esau.
I really hope Winnipeg gets their team back. My distrust & dislike for Bettman though isn't letting me feel good about it just yet and after reading this article (and watching the video), I'll reserve any cheering until I see it's 100% official.CBC Sports contacted sources close to the deal, including a representative of True North, who said the sale isn't final — yet. Tuesday may be a target date if everything comes together, and it could be finalized as early as Friday, but none of that is set in stone and the process could take longer than that. http://www.cbc.ca/news/manitoba/story/wpg-jets-fans-reaction
Booche
One thing that I just learned which makes this even more intriguing is that The Globe and Mail signs Stephen Brunt's cheques. They are also a partner in True North Sports.
Booche
Oh wait, its not as cut and dried and I made that appear but there is a circular degree going on that suggest Brunt would have been given a green light before anyone else. None the less, its Stephen Brunt and he is a reporter of much respect. And check this out, its on the NHL website. Freak By Night
I hope they saved that portrait of the Queen from the old arena. It wouldn't be hockey in Winnipeg without it!

Guest Low Roller
13,000 season tickets are already sold for the new Winnipeg team. Not bad at all.So what are they going to call this team? Can it realistically be anything other than the Jets?? The city might riot if it's not the Jets. Other options I guess are to keep them as the Thrashers. If they name this team the Moose after the AHL team I will have a laughing induced seizure. It's gotta be the Jets.
