Irie Guy
1st cut "Billie Jean" is terrible IMHO, hopefully the rest of the album is better or I certainly wont be buying this one

Kanada Kev
I love ESAS, but this has been the hardest of their releases to really get into IMHO. It just doesn't lend itself to the style the same way Floyd, Radiohead and The Beatles did. Still, lots of fun and maybe it will grow on me a bit more. Looking forward to seeing them again at Lee's Palace next month

Looking forward to seeing them again at Lee's Palace next month I gotta disagree with you here, Kev. I think Thriller lends itself to a reggaeifcation FAR better than either Ok Computer or Sgt. Peppers. I thought both had a few great interpretations of songs, but ultimately didn't really satisfy my as a whole album. The Beatles version especially sounded off. Thrillah on the other hand carries the whole way and really keeps a good tempo throughout. ON a whole, I'd say this is their best effort sin Dub Side. My two cents... Mr. Photogeek
Easy Star Guys asked me to help with PR in Waterloo, any ideas to whom might cover or do press ?My first thoughts would be the University papers:Laurier: http://www.thecord.ca/ UW: http://www.theimprint.ca/ They are both walking distance from the venue and on most club nights at the Starlight there are tons of students there. I would imagine some postering in the student areas would be effective too. The local paper may (big may) have some interest too: http://www.therecord.com/ If Jay Schneider still works there he would be the guy to contact. He is an excellent music writer. Schwa.
I gave it a full 3rd listen yesterday but this time with headphones. I have to say that it is easily the best effort since Dub Side for sure for sure as fluffhead77 already mentioned. highlights for me were Baby Be Mine and Human Nature, two songs that would not be on my favourite list if we were talking about the original album, which I find pretty cool has me REALLY looking forward to the show here at the teeny tiny Starlight Lounge

Jay Funk Dawg
Great show! Aggrolites were wicked - so much energy. Easy Stars were great too, I really liked the bass player's vibe.
