  1. Holy crap, ms huxley. THat looked like tons o' fun.

New Speedway Boogie! I just gotta hear that!

    Hey Mark! See that shit?

Set 1: Jam > Help On The Way > Slipnot > Walkin' Blues, Loser, Blackbird, Black Throated Wind, Bombs Away, Lucky Enough, West L.A. Fadeaway, Aiko Aiko

Set 2: New Speedway Boogie > Other One > He's Gone > SOLOS > Jam > The Wheel, She Says, Throwing Stones, Franklin's Tower, E: U.S. Blues

How'd the DJ Logic work out?

  2. I picked up GratefuL Dawg on the weekend for 26.99 at the Future Shop.

It is excellent! The highlight for me is an extra track, a full length, uninterrupted version of Garcia/Grisman's "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman"

Heavily jazzed up, they jam it to town. It's incredible. I hope they actually release the full warfield show or even that Christmas show at Sweetwater. The people who were at that party were L-U-C-K-Y.

I was annoyed though that they didn't marry up alot of the footage in some of the music sections with the tune. It was wierd to hear Jerry's soloing, yet they'd put totally different footage of Jerry's fingers in a completely different solo/song.

I wonder why they interrupted the real footage with other footage in the perfomances?

Aside from that, it was great little journey through their bluegrassy careers.

It's interesting to see that the bluegrass scene back in the early 60's was much like the jamband scene of today. People jammin in parking lots before and after shows. I just love that.

Buy it even if you don't have a player. YOu will get a DVD player one day, so you may as well own it. Then you could take it to someone's house that has one but isn't aware of Jer.

It'd be a cool little lesson in music.

  3. all the excitement of those shows has got me all stirred up! Alphies and Babylon are my 2 very close destinations for BNB evenings. Smiths Falls can be very rewarding sometimes.

    One way or another...

Thanks to Mr. TOnin, I have a great pair of CD's in my Car rotation from last Frontier Town BNB.

Such a great thing to listen to.

Hey, did the Doors-Grateful Dead CD's ever get exchanged?

  4. no shit. But I'm also intimidated by it. I know it's not supposed to be like all of the other "everquests" where you gotta devote 4 hrs a day to get anywhere.

But, I'm sure it would be addictive as hell if you got into it. Goodbye life!

  5. Jaimoe, that does suck.

"VIDEO: "Grateful Dawg" is listed on the back of the DVD's box as being a full-frame presentation, but the actual film itself is presented in 1.66:1 non-anamorphic widescreen. Given the fact that archive footage and other elements were put together for this film, it's understandable that the image quality varies throughout; some older footage appears softer, but the newer performance and interview footage generally looks pleasantly crisp. A little wear and edge enhancement is visible now and then, but overall, this is a very good presentation of the material."

  6. Just to set the record straight, this is the FIRST recorded incident of malicious posting!

Indika was complaining that people were changing his posts, when in fact NO ONE had. He just wrote to many drunken-stoned posts. I may be guilty of changing his sig one day (if anyone remembers THIS POST).
