  1. I think I've only seen them 6 or 8 times.

One of my favorite nights was listening to those guys do the entire Let it Be album at Twiggies in TO. It was NYE as well. I think we had a major chinese feast that night afterwards thanks to Andrew Harnden's knowledge of Chinatown.

Funny moment #1: realizing that the guy doing the sound was the drummer or something from Platinum blonde, we all had a laugh. Harpua made some crack at him about doing sound at a bar. A couple of months later, I saw an interview with all of the members of Plat Blonde on Much and they were wondering what the guys were up too. Well, the guy that was being made fun of for doing the sound at a bar replied.."I own the bar across the street, Twiggies".

  2. They're just shitty quality pics of 4 guys playing at a wedding.

Do a search on weddings...you'll see pics of 'private' weddings everywhere. Sure, they may not be on walfredo.com, but if someone has taken pictures, it's entirely up to them what happens to them. If they aren't supposed to share them, then they shouldn't.

If they are available to put up on walfredo.com, then I'm sure it's nothing to really get your panties in a bind.

If you don't feel right looking at the following link to someone's wedding, don't click on it.

Also, there is a band in these wedding photos...

Do you think it's ok for them to be displayed on the net cause they weren't in phish?

  3. Sorry giggler...one thing led to another and the first piece of your submission sent me on a wild goose chase to do something cool. Well, that turned into a time-consuming adventure, so there will be a belated xmas review up soon.

I'll PM you a secret link so you can preview it. Hey, then maybe I can move on to other stuff.

  4. I think it's an F.

And don't try and say that Trey's tuned the guy's guitar down a whole-step.

My guess is that they're playing Lovin' Cup in the photo - Trey singing on the F w/Mike harmony ...

    code:

    F C G

Give me little drink from your loving cup

    F C G

Just one drink and I'll fall down drunk

  5. Grand Theft Auto III is coming to the PC, for those of us who would actually buy a PS2 just for that game alone...there may be no need.

The graphics are excellent on the PS2, but I can't wait to see what it'll look like on my PC. Previous PC versions had Network play, where you take on a friend and try and wreak more havoc than your buddy and steal more cars and make more money in a set time period. Could be a fun to take it online if they support it.

  6. PEIPunk! You guys were a blast man. My sweater stinks now cause you made me dance.

I was very amazed at how many peeps came out on the same night! We need to pull that off more.

There was too much fun going around for only a few people to enjoy. The saying "The more, the merrier" couldn't have been more accurate on saturday night.

Congrats on a successful night Brad and Downtime!

  7. I just wish that I wasn't such a chronic stoner. I just heard that Jerry Garcia also had a solo band, calld the Jerry Garcia Band! WTF!?

Also toured with the bluegrass moniker Old and in the Way somewhere in the 70's too.

I'd better get off the smoke. Just today I found out that the girl playing Lucy in this movie...http://us.imdb.com/Title?0275022

apparantly has a band or something.

  8. I almost expect those sort of generalizations in dead related articles. It was a very ignorant comment to make, stating that everyone was too stoned to notice Jerry's other works.

EVERYONE that is into the Dead are well aware of Jerry's high lonesome sound.

I don't think the comment needs to be taken so negatively, I'm sure it is merely some easy to find "humour" that comes from a pool of cliched quips.

Your letter to them is warrented as they should pay closer attention to what they publish.

  9. After making a post with a stevie ray vaughan reference, I did a little searchy-poo and found something very interesting.

    SRV compilation

SRV fans, also musicians, got together on the net and created their own tribute compilation with whatever equipment they had.

Wouldn't that be the sweetest project to get on with?

Who wants to do one this year? I think a Garcia tribute may be in order.

  10. Velvet gets bouche on a tangent

I go nutz when people say B.B. King is the greatest guitar player in the world.

Then you have guys like Tony D. hogging all the guitar fame in Ottawa. He may as well just start up a SRV cover band rather than pawn off Texas Flood as his 5 of his own tunes.
