  2. just like other people have said, the gift of a grandchild is the BEST!!! Those kits that edger mentioned are great. Also, what about letting her know that you're going to use her name (or variation of) as part of the grandchild's name (if that makes any sense, or if you would even want to ). Welcome her to her SIXTIES, with SIX TEAS, or SIX TEES (t-shirs, or golf tees ). Some others here: http://www.overthehillgifts.com/60birgifid.html http://www.cafepress.ca/30405060/1730752

  5. What If Everybody in Canada Flushed At Once? Written by Pats Papers | Monday, 8 March 2010 12:42 PM http://www.patspapers.com/blog/item/what_if_everybody_flushed_at_once_Edmonton_water_gold_medal_hockey_game/ The water utility in Edmonton, EPCOR, published the most incredible graph of water consumption last week. By now you’ve probably heard that up to 80% of Canadians were watching last Sunday’s gold medal Olympic hockey game. So I guess it stands to reason that they’d all go pee between periods. But still—the degree to which the water consumption matches with the key breaks in the hockey game is stunning.
  6. These 'tards should be suspended as well. League review after incidents and hand out suspensions if deemed diving/faking/etc. on any play. Let's not have this turn into Italian Soccer
  7. RONNIE AND NEIL (Hood / DBT) Church blew up in Birmingham Four little black girls killed for no goddamn good reason All this hate and violence can't come to no good end A stain on the good name. A whole lot of good people dragged threw the blood and glass Blood stains on their good names and all of us take the blame Meanwhile in North Alabama, Wilson Pickett comes to town To record that sweet soul music, to get that Muscle Shoals sound Meanwhile in North Alabama, Aretha Franklin comes to town To record that sweet soul music, to get that Muscle Shoals sound And out in California, a rock star from Canada writes a couple of great songs about the Bad shit that went down "Southern Man" and "Alabama" certainly told some truth But there were a lot of good folks down here and Neil Young wasn't around Meanwhile in North Alabama, Lynyrd Skynyrd came to town To record with Jimmy Johnson at Muscle Shoals Sound And they met some real good people, not racist pieces of shit And they wrote a song about it and that song became a hit Ronnie and Neil Ronnie and Neil Rock stars today ain't half as real Speaking there minds on how they feel Let them guitars blast for Ronnie and Neil Now Ronnie and Neil became good friends their feud was just in song Skynyrd was a bunch of Neil Young fans and Neil he loved that song So He wrote "Powderfinger" for Skynyrd to record But Ronnie ended up singing "Sweet Home Alabama" to the lord And Neil helped carry Ronnie in his casket to the ground And to my way of thinking, us southern men need both of them around Ronnie and Neil Ronnie and Neil Rock stars today ain't half as real Speaking their minds on how they feel Let them guitars blast for Ronnie and Nei

  11. LOL ... i had Matt Van der Woude as well! He was my TA in the great Rob Bowman's music class. That was probably around '91 '92. Damn I loved that class. I had a bit of a flashback to it when Rob Bowman did a mini preshow lecture before the last Lanois show at Massey Hall I got a kickass mark on one of my essays (on 2-Tone British Ska) that Matt asked to keep. Wonder if he ever used portions of it
  12. Fantastic series ... so much to absorb, learn and experience in that. Contextualizes so well the changes in styles and instrumentation with what was going on in society and musicians lives over time. For some Canadian history, get him to watch This Beat Goes On. http://www.cbc.ca/documentaries/doczone/2009/beatgoeson/
  13. Technically, Kessel batted the puck to the the opponent (goalie) ... washout ... no rule of possession ... play lives ... goal counts. Same as how they technically called the one Delay Of Game penalty correct (even though it is cheesy) when it was deflected out of the rink off the shaft of the Ottawa player near the blue line. It wasn't intentional, but rules is rules. Whatever.
  14. That was the highest stick ever. Yup, and it didn't go IN off of the high stick ... live puck after it touched the opponent (goalie).
  15. Didn't pay much attention to the first period. Looked and sounded like the game was in Toronto Tons of Leafers there. Wasn't the prettiest game, but it sure was entertaining and surprising picked up the pace in the third and OT (considering that guys were puking on the bench earlier ) Great shootout win for the Leafs and all the young kids getting ice time. Also getting the experience of keeping their heads up around players like Neil and Rutuu That weird goal that went off the goalie's head should have counted
  16. [color:purple] Put down the joint, stop drinkin' beer and get outta that hot tub!!
