  8. Looking like giant leaves floating in the sea thousands of Golden Rays are seen here gathering off the coast of Mexico. The spectacular scene was captured as the magnificent creatures made one of their biannual mass migrations to more agreeable waters. Gliding silently beneath the waves they turned vast areas of blue water to gold off the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. Sandra Critelli, an amateur photographer, stumbled across the phenomenon while looking for whale sharks. She said: "It was an unreal image, very difficult to describe. The surface of the water was covered by warm and different shades of gold and looked like a bed of autumn leaves gently moved by the wind. "It's hard to say exactly how many there were but in the range of a few thousand. "We were surrounded by them without seeing the edge of the school and we could see many under the water surface too. "I feel very fortunate I was there in the right place at the right time to experienced nature at his best." Measuring up to 7ft (2.1 metres) from wing-tip to wing-tip, Golden rays are also more prosaically known as cow nose rays. They have long, pointed pectoral fins that separate into two lobes in front of their high-domed heads and give them a cow-like appearance. Despite having poisonous stingers they are known to be shy and non-threatening when in large schools. The population in the Gulf of Mexico migrates, in schools of as many as 10,000, clockwise from western Florida to the Yucatan.
  9. McCabe ain't going anywhere I think i just barfed a little in my mout http://sportsnet.ca/thewire/hockey/2008/06/25/mccabe_likes_it_in_toront/
  10. Lecavalier = $77million over 9 years in Tampa ?!?!?! http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=241633&lid=headline&lpos=topStory_main The final touches are still being worked on and nothing can be formally announced until July 1, but sources tell TSN the Tampa Bay Lightning and superstar centre Vinny Lecavalier have agreed to terms on a mega-deal that will pay him $77 million over nine years. The annual salary cap hit to the Lightning will be about $8.55 million for the length of the contract, but the final year of the contract is said to be only for about $3 million, which means that if Lecavalier retired after eight seasons, his average salary would be as much as $9.4 million. The deal comes with the expected "no-movement" clause and should guarantee that Lecavalier will finish his NHL career with the team that drafted him No. 1 overall. Sources say there are still some minor structuring aspects of contract required for it to become complete, but the announcement should made on or sometime just after July 1.
  11. Holy Fuck ... O'Reilly is the biggest ass out there. Check out what he had to show less than 24 hours after Carlin died. What a fuckwad. Check out 2:47 in. and here's Carlin on Countdown not too long ago.
  12. Spain v Russia should be WAYYYYYY more entertaining.
  13. ^^^^ LOL ... Man, I know he's got a cast on his foot, but does this guy look like a well-conditioned NHL player? Kyle, good luck passing a physical if some team picks you up. If you don't sign somewhere, i'm sure your little blonde friend won't be around much longer either
  14. watch it, or i'll mess you up! Germany is going to smoke the Turks today, btw.
  15. Agreed. Agreed. Tucker provided a lot of good times for the Leafs during his time. There was definitely something wrong with him last season though. Will he improve this year? Who knows, but I'd rather not risk it for $4million. Everyone was screaming for them to clean house. Fletcher's doing it. Celebrate I'm getting drunk as fuck when the word comes out that McCabe is on his way outta town (even though he's becoming cheaper every year ).
  16. These are wild. Check 'em out at this link. There are tons of 'em. http://www.freakingnews.com/Money-Celebrities-Pictures--1998-0.asp

video version of the above: George Carlin - Religion is Bullshit on FunnyOrDie.com
  21. Love the "7 Words" skit. Tell me of another standup comedian right now who can deliver material as well as this AND and that is as good as this. Chris Rock is damn funny, but he can't hold a candle to this George Carlin - Seven Words on FunnyOrDie.com
  22. Raycroft probably won't get picked up. I can see Wellwood going, although he does have a fucked up foot right now. Wellwood has some fantastic skill, too bad he doesn't have the heart or desire to be a top player. He has got to be one of the most "bored looking" players out there. Good riddance.
