  1. I guess he started his job Sean Avery, best known at the Rangers' enforcer, mans the phone as a Vogue intern in this photo for Men's Vogue.
  2. Interesting. Thanks for posting. Looks like they've got their shit together pretty good. Down the road, will we see a "Super Cup" pitting the Stanley Cup Champions vs. Gagarin Cup Champioins? Or maybe we could have an All-Star game that actually meant a little more being the NHL vs. KHL.

  4. never understood that about real estate transactions. The buyer's offer is accepted by you, they hand over a security deposit to your lawyer. Then, for whatever reason, they back out and you don't get to keep the deposit?!?!?! Fuck that ... am i missing something??? Congrats on the finalization of your sale. Must be a big weight off of your shoulders. Celebrate good times, come on!
  5. LOL ... hadta laugh. I had to schedule that commercial forever on CBC Ottawa! Drove me nuts too They never sent me any fine jewelry for my work either
  6. If I saw these guys parked in the driveway next door to me I might just call in the by-law enforcers
  7. right on. I remember actually exchanging a couple of emails with him back when DMB's Under The Table and Dreaming came out. I enjoyed Billy Breathes as a Phish studio work. One of their best IMHO. He produced my favourite Gabriel album too:

  10. Carlin at the Hollywood Palace 1966 ... "Wonderful Wino" i remember hearing this routine on the Dr. Demento show as a kid.
  11. Looks like the bylaws vary from place to place and are confusing. Take a look at this thread and you'll get an idea. Be sure to call your local by-law people: http://www.popupexplorer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=55249 http://www.toronto.ca/zoning/pdf/ibi_phase1_report.pdf
  12. ^^^^ worth checking out. I found out that in Oakville it is the same thing. We had a pop-ut-trailer-camper stored in my driveway for a few years and was never a problem, but it was small and at the side of the house. Guess we didn't have any nasty neighbours ... but that's all it takes.

  14. I'll be glad to cheer him on ... unless he goes to Ottawa
  15. Lost a legend So long George, your material is still damn funny and will be for decades to come.
  16. It seemed to me that it was the boring defensive play of the Italians that stifled the Spaniards. It was like watching the NJ Devils Karma got di Natale missing his penalty shot after the antics he pulled going down earlier. The game on Saturday was so much more exciting to watch. Looking forward to the semi-final match-ups. Buh Bye Azzurri.
  17. Nothing. Now what would they have to give up to sign him before July 1st is another question altogether. I am guessing a 4th round pick but I have no clue. Exactly. The only reason that they would have to give something up would be to jump the gun on any other teams that are going to try to convince Sundin to go to their club. Otherwise, just wait until July 1st and you don't have to give up a thing. Sundin deserves to play on a Cup contender. The Leafs will NOT be that next year. The Leafs would be stupid to pay him his 7 or 8 million dollar salary (which he rightfully deserves) to keep him. They should be spending that on new, young talent instead. I'll miss Sundin, but will be happy to see his success if he continues to play in the NHL for another franchise.
  18. Good luck to the Continental Hockey League. If they want to entice players with over the top salaries, then so be it. They're not doing anything illegal. If there are contracts being "broken" then that's a matter for the courts. Owners will have to get creative in their contract offerings in order to ensure that their players remain. So, there's a possibility that there will be fewer top-tier Russian players in the NHL? So what? Yes, I enjoy watching their talent on the ice, but are you telling me that there aren't enough other players, from other countries, that can't provide just as much entertainment value? A player who quits to play in Russia should totally be held accountable for their remaining contract term. If a Russian club is encouraging them to 'defect' to their league, they should payout the NHL club that owned the contract. Why should that player's salary still be held against the NHL cap? They must put into place some sort of stipulation that if a player goes, that they can't return to the NHL for a certain number of years, otherwise this could be used as a cheap way out for NHL franchises to unload players with long contracts (eg. Ovechkin, etc.)
  19. Entire coaching staff except for Brad Arnsberg and Brian Butterfield has been released.
  20. Big sweep! Cleaned house (except for 2) Cito's BACK
