  5. Well, it was a lot of fun going to the awards show last night. It was delayed for a little bit because a fire alarm went off in the theatre. That's OK, had a few beers at the bar and got to have a few words with Probert The show was better than last year's to attend. Rubbed elbows with tons of greats and got to chat with quite a few. After sitting in Red Kelly's seat for a while, I spent most of my time in the 5th row sitting beside Martin St. Louis who was a very nice guy. I was sitting where LeCavalier was, but he left after his award. I'm not an autograph hound at all, but the NHLers were all completely approachable and were signing autographs and getting pics taken with all the kids that were there (a few teams that must have won some contest or something). Shit, they were even hounding them for autographs in the bathroom. After the awards I got to shake hands with a bunch of players and say hi. The ones that made my night though were the boys from Montreal. To see a few of my childhood heroes was a treat. Gainey, Carbonneau and Muller all together. It was the one time I pulled my camera out. Wish I could have gotten a pic with all of them, but just got this one: Talking to Carbonneau, I congratulated him on a fantastic season, thanked him for the memories of him playing and wished him well. And for you fuckers here, I was sure to tell him that those sentiments were not only from me, but from the hard core fans here! He was very appreciative. He loves you guys I tried to work my magic and get in to the after party, but it wasn't in the stars this year. I didn't have my security connection and they were super tight at the door. I took the bus there, but got denied Bummer. Oh well, i would have been in really rough shape today if I had made it in, but it would have been worth it. I'll have to start working on an angle for next year. Chara is freakishly tall.
  6. funny thing is that most of his audience probably had NO idea what the fuck he was doing, or what the joke was all about Thanks Stephen, for thinking of us Canadians on your show. I think Colbert should do his show from Canada some time. Imagine "Better Know A District - Canadian Style"

  14. Well worth the price of admission. Have a blast everyone
  15. Puppy Tips: This has worked really well for our last 2 dogs. As soon as you know there's going to be a huge thunderstorm, or fireworks, be sure to get up and PLAY with your puppy. Even if it's the middle of the night. Sounds silly, but so often puppy's are in their crates or all alone during these times and that scares the bejesus out of 'em. My two dogs are completely diff personalities, but neither one of them even wakes up during thunder storms or fireworks Another nice thing for them while you're gone is to leave an item of your clothing (that you've recently worn) in their crate. Remember, they also have short-term memory. If you come home and they've had an "accident" don't scream and yell at them or stick their nose in it. You can only enforce that if you "catch them in the act". Puppies rock.
  16. or Streetcar? Call him Brando (almost Banjo). Banjo Brando
  17. exactly . . . and the possibility of criminal charges after.
  18. Yes, but he was knocked out by his own player (goalie) and would have sustained any "injury" from him. In no way should that call a scoring opportunity dead for the attacking team, imo. It would open it up to some classless players to fake injury and fall out of bounds to force an attacker offside. If it was an opposing player that physically knocked him off the field and injured him that would be different. Compared to hockey, could you imagine if an attacking player fell behind the net and got a booboo while the defending team clears the puck back over the blue line. Then the attacking team comes back into the offensive zone and scores a goal but it's not ruled offside even though they had a player "injured" in the zone. Not fair at all. When is a player not a player when they are playing? pfft. Agreed, but more in soccer I am impressed with the dramatic reduction in "diving" during these games so far. Much much better.

  20. and just wait ... out early for "good behaviour" (hard to get booze and a car in prison) and he'll have a new driver's license in no time at all Driving is a privilege and NOT a right!
  21. Should be: Intoxicated Murderer Gets 5 Years A man who was intoxicated chose to use his vehicle as a weapon of choice when murdering girl riding bicycle.
  22. Yeah, we get relentless Bell flyers in out mailbox every week. I'm so sick of those fucking beavers. Rogers bugs me a little more though. They blanket our area with flyers and Rogers cable/internet/voip is NOT even available in our area! Talk about waste. Don't let them ever try to sell that they are "green".
  23. ^^^^^^ yeah, but then they'll send you a bill and you'll be fighting THEM for a year trying to get it resolved. Ask to speak to a superior when they call next. When you get them, demand to talk to their superior, etc. See how far up the chain you can get. Demand some sort of credit or compensation for your time and their harassment. Don't take NO for an answer. Tell them that you have taken record of everything and that the media would be very interested in the story. Good luck ... stick it to 'em. Time to throttle them, since they throttle all of their customers.
