There was no FIRST concert for me, but rather festivals as a kid. I was luck and my Mom took me to Mariposa every summer for a number of years in the mid-70s. Was exposed to tons of music at those and got the killer hippie festy vibe instilled at a young age. I was 8, but I remember it distinctly and the fact that there was a gorilla wearing a yellow 1050 CHUM shirt running around in the crowd First show w/out adult supervision: UB40 @ Massey Hall 1985 (Rat In The Kitchen tour) ... ahhhh sweet sweet ganja filling the air and raggae :)

All i know is that the one Phish print that I purchased (directly from Pollock at The Went) was the best thing I ever wrote a cheque for that was never cashed. Kept that Went Robot safe for years not even knowing that it was the "Holy Grail" for collectors. Was able to sell it for a mint and made good use of the cash to pay down some debts ... just wish I had about 10 more of them right now

Me too. I worked at the EX that summer (hell) but got into the first show dirt cheap about 40 rows back. Then, the next night scored some tix through a connection of my Dad's (front row and 8th row). Hung out for the opening few songs in the front row. PYRO is RIGHT! Fuck, the heat that came off of those things was almost scary and I was blinded for most of the song I then proceeded to hang in the 8th row seats and party my face off

Nice story. Those were always great series between Boston and Montreal. Since Guy was my hero, i have MUCH fonder memories than that writer Wonder how he felt after Game 7

Interesting game last night. Both teams looked a little cautious for the most part through the first two periods. Both coming of 7 game series, they were used to different opponents. Must have been a little strange coming up against a new foe. To me, Philly was looking much more composed and strangely avoided their trademark style of "play". I was expecting them to be a little more "dirty". Oh well, two of their goals were garbage (off a leg, and the other a tip by McBrisbois ). With the posts that Montreal were hitting the Flyers should have felt lucky to be in it. Big time win for Montreal. Price was a little shakey at times, but this should get him back on track and ready for the rest of the round. Watched the game with my Dad who was in town, and my two kids (sporting new Habs tshirts that their Grandpa brought in from Montreal). PS - that wanker from the Ottawa Sun is such a loser. Is he the guy who also was tossing comments at Georges LaRoque??
