  1. Hey oh ... I fully understand and I paid the ticket. My problem with it was the fact that we were on a street where the stopping made absolutely NO impact on the flow of traffic. Trust me, I sit on streets for ages while one car/truck is stopped and reduces the street to one lane. I wish they would target THOSE instead. Any other time of the month (not the end when quotas are due) have they ever ticketed where we were.
  2. I think it was LUCK that I didn't get pulled over by a cop looking to fill end-of-the-month-quotas and hit the jackpot with me! Fucking meter maid nailed us with a ticket for stopping in a no stopping zone (car was still running and the wife was in the car). No warning, no nothing (and not on one of the busy streets either). $60 later, FUCK! That was as much as the speeding ticket my wife got in a school zone!
  3. They are usually pretty strict when it comes to expired stickers in Ontario too. They don't often give you a chance to get the sticker and then nullify the ticket. I was lucky last week and got all my expired stuff reactivated (emissions test, plate stickers, driver's licence, OHIP card). It would have just been my luck to get nailed driving with an expired licence and stickers.
  4. Do you think that Jerry and Jon don't like each other? I was kind of puzzled with that interview. Sometimes it looks like Jon and his guests really start giving some jabs at one another and it's kinda awkward (like Lynn Cheney!! ). However, if you see them converse as they go to break it sometimes shows that it was an act. Take a look at this great Seinfeld interview with Larry King recently ... I don't think Seinfeld was happy at all with this one;
  5. Sorry, should have noted that they were from a different gig
  6. You can hear this show now: http://www.archive.org/details/phil2007-11-02.phil2007-11-02aud.flac16 The following picture(s) are NOT from the show above http://www.chadtasky.com/photo_gallery_files/adams_lesh_12_galaxies_042706_galleryfiles/index.htm
  7. LOL ... that's old, but good Gotta love a laughing Elmo. Here's what happened to that one in case you didn't know:
  8. Sure thing. I'll take a look a the merch table for sure. Both shows that i've seen (at the Hummingbird Centre) were mind-blowing. I think the 2nd one was even better (with only Ray White as an alumni). There's a trailer for the DVD on the ZPZ site: http://www.zappaplayszappa.com/
  9. After the hilarious fuckup with the backing synth track at this show: Looks like more Eddie problems happened a couple of nights ago too: Subject: VanHalen Meltdown Meadowlands 11/03/07: The show is in the category of forgettable (or unforgettable..depends how you look at things). I guess the high point of the evening's drama was Eddie Van Halen stomping around like a 3-year old because his guitar cable kept getting tangled (as he yanked on it violently)...no wait...it would have to be him screaming..SCREAMING at the tech guys on the side of the stage for the better part of the show...no...the part where he flipped the monitor over, because it was either too loud, or he didn't like what was coming out of it..no...maybe it was when he picked said monitor up and threw it across the stage...NO..I got it..it was when he proceeded to pick up the monitor and throw it OFF the stage. That was it. I'm not making any of this up. There were some other noteworthy occurrences..like during one of Ed's fits, where he was switching guitars.."and the Cradle Will Rock" starts..only problem is..Ed is not holding a guitar..but it starts nonetheless, with the swoosing flanged guitar..that's he's not playing..it's pre-recorded..so is the rhythm part..I'm pretty sure it's a keyboard, but I never noticed it, because he was usually playing. This show seemed to measure up to the KC show everyone was talking about..except Dave was great. I gained a newfound respect for him tonight, as he was the consumate professional as his bandmate stomped, sneared and screamed through 90% of the show, during which he paid little attention to his playing, stopping at times, screwing up at others. After the monitor toss, he pretty much threw and swatted at anything and everything in his path. I feel bad for Wolfie too. I can tell this is all getting to him fast. He looked like he wanted to be ANYWHERE else for pretty much the entire show. At times I caught him staring at Ed with this "what the f*ck??" look on his face. At one point, after one of his meltdowns, I guess Ed realized that yeh..there are like 10,000 people watching this, he tried to do his goofy dancing and jumping pikes, then he goes over to Wolfie's side and picks up a straw cowboy hat, puts it on, then tries to put it on Wolf, only Wolfs backs up, slaps the hat away, then proceeds to kick it off the stage into the crowd. This thing is unravelling..fast. After the monitor throwing incident, Ed came back up and looked almost possessed. Very sad indeed. Sad for everyone involved. Sad for the fans that shelled out $500 to be in the VIP circle. Actually, it was sad for any fan who shelled out even $1 to see this charade tonight. Saddest of all for the multi-millionaire guitarist whose band is making 1.5 million per show that he can't put everything aside for 2 hours a day, play his music and act like a swell guy. In any event..here it is. The recording matches the performance. BTW - I'm not on the whole VH-bashing bandwagon either. I'm just really disgusted at the show Ed turned in last night.
  10. Anyone else heading to the show tomorrow night? (Tues) Pumped to see these guys again, and in such a fantastic venue.

  13. Lesh's creative input to this setlist = .00042% Ah yes, BUT, it sure wouldn't sound as damn good if it wasn't HIM playing it all!
  14. I got to see the 2nd and 3rd periods. Lively game. Great watching both teams go end to end with few whistles a couple of times. Goalies were looking pretty damn good too. Fun game ... hope to see more like that

  16. I just about cried on Halloween (after everyone had gone to bed and i had dipped into the bowl of green and bowls of candy) watching the killer DVD of the 10/31/80 show from Radio City. The acoustic set, while Phil is having bass probs, is incredible. Jerry makes multiple trips to space and back on his acoustic. Gotta get down to watching the other 3 DVDs that make up that show now.
  17. I Love it. I booked our family vacation just as the dollar hit par ... 4 x airfares, 1 x rental house are a wayyyyy better deal. Even though I booked the airfare really late, the dollar made up for it Now I just have to get a deal on a rental car and some passes to the Disney Parks
