  1. And on another note, I'm pretty sure that you can't call it the five-knuckle shuffle for a nun. I mean, technically you could, but wouldn't that just be fisting at that point?
  2. I'm absolutely sure that it's not allowed. Of course, that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen!
  3. Yeeeeehaw! Game Seven in San Jose!
  4. Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Everybody Knows. Okay - before anybody gets all excited, apparently this is just the Australian release of Follow The Lights with a different title and an extra track - the studio version of "Everybody Knows" from Easy Tiger.
  5. We are playing in the monkey bars Sittin' by the streets just countin' the cars We are running from place to place We're running around, like we're in a rat race Monkey bars, swingin' stars Countin' the cars, by the monkey bars We've got a job in the Amazon Everyone's a jungle, out to con We drive for miles and see lots of trees We get home in time to pay our managers fees Monkey bars, swingin' stars Countin' the cars, by the monkey bars Eatin's easy when you're chimps like us Banana splits are a definite plus Things'll be better when we climb our way out Our hands may slip, but not cause of doubt Monkey bars, swingin' stars Countin' the cars, by the monkey bars Monkey bars, swingin' stars Settin' up those pars by the monkey bars
  6. Wayne Shorter, Night Dreamer. I guess McCoy Tyner must have had contract issues. Poor guy is only listed as "Etc".
  7. Bourbon Tabernacle Choir should be excellent - I saw them a handful of times back in the early-mid-nineties and they were always a blast. I had no idea that Black Cabbage were still around. I saw them live once or twice too, and they were rather interesting. I think they're from Guelph.
  8. I wondered about that, actually. When I read the article, it first said that it was the next building, but then it kind of suggested that it was the Lister as well. Stupid Spec - it always has been a second-rate paper. My mistake. I misread. I still think the Spec is second-rate, although I admit it has gotten slightly better over the last few years.
  9. That's too bad. I always hoped the city (or some developer, etc) could do something meaningful with the Lister Block while at least maintaining the facade. I just hope it doesn't become a parking lot. I also hope this doesn't affect PJC negatively!

    yayyyyyy God

I don't think Dan Savage is a conservative - if anything, he's a left-leaning libertarian who spends most of his time attacking social conservatives. He is a gay-lesbian-bisexual-transgendered rights advocate and an international sex advice columnist. Now, I obviously didn't hear the broadcast you're referring to, but I'm going to guess that he was criticizing the government for their stance on polygamy in general. I think he's a big "keep the state out of the bedroom and away from marriage" advocate.

Is "The Savage Nation" Dan Savage's radio show?
  12. Aimee Mann, Bachelor No. 2 or, the last remains of the dodo.
  13. I believe that's the Toronto Sun.
  14. Out of respect for your pain and suffering, I won't point out that you spelled "grammar" incorrectly. Oooops. I guess I just did.
  15. This Detroit-Nashville series is starting to get more interesting, too. Nashville is finally making a real series of it. And they just chased Hasek out of net, too.
  16. After all the Toronto bashing this year (even though it was mostly deserved), I can't stop myself from saying:
  17. That's okay. Some guys prefer a girl with a huge trunk. That shouldn't stop you from scoring in your new apartment.
  18. Thankfully mine is fine - no skips at all! Thanks for the heads-up, though.
  19. Fuck, I had to leave for work when there were only five minutes left - but the Flames were up a goal, so my hopes were high. I got to work, logged on and saw that Calgary had lost. WTF?!? Still the best series of the playoffs so far, with Minnesota-Colorado a close second (minus last night's blowout, anyway).
  20. Alright... home... stereo on... sounds like gold. Plus, the packaging is waaaay cool. Great photos, nice CD cases, great art, and a reproduction of the Deadheads flyer that was mailed out to announce the November shows in 1973... and what appears to be a contemporary "Good Ol' Grateful Dead" button that scared the shit out of me when I first picked up the package because I could hear something rolling around inside and assumed that something had been broken during shipment. But, you know what they say about assuming. Thank you, Mario David Lemieux!
