  1. Yo La Tengo, I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass.
  2. Ahmad Jamal Trio, Cross Country Tour: 1958-1961.
  3. Billy Bragg, Talking With The Taxman About Poetry.
  4. Good luck with the move, and safe travels! The Sault ain't so bad - hope you enjoy your new environs!
  5. My friend Darrin owned The X Club. I used to go see gigs there all of the time. I must have seen fifty or sixty shows there back when that place was running - some memorable ones were the Rheostatics and Big Sugar, but those were the "bigger" ones. They had live music coming out of their ass at that place.
  6. Way to go, Luke! Glad to hear that things have turned around for you!
  7. That reminds me of when I saw New Order (maybe sometime between '89 and '91, can't remember exactly) with two openers: Public Image Ltd. (John Lydon was craaaaazy!) and The Sugar Cubes. I remember thinking that the female singer was pretty kooky but talented - and she went on to prove those ideas repeatedly since then!
  8. The Cure with Love & Rockets and The Pixies opening. CNE Grandstand, I think it was the summer of 1989. Awesome.
  9. Nope. That was 1994 when Traffic opened. I almost never made it *back* from that show' date=' if you know what I mean.[/quote'] Ditto. The show wasn't actually that great, but I think I discovered a few new universes that night...
  10. ... which Ol'Hickster thinks is YUMMY!
  11. I can't improve on this statement... My sympathy and (((vibes))) go out to you, your mom and your family.
  12. Esbjorn Svensson Trio at the Enwave Theatre. I didn't even realize that Ahmad Jamal was still alive. That would be a pretty good gig, too.
  13. Carole King, Tapestry. Saw it used, picked it up for a few dollars. Strangely, I realized that I pretty much know the words to every single song on the album. My mom used to play the 8-track when I was a kid - I didn't realize how much of it had stuck in my head.
  14. Yeah, but sick in a good way, right?

    yayyyyyy God

Ah. Different Savage. That makes a little more sense.
  16. That's what happened to me. Watched the mini, expecting to hate it... and was hooked immediately. I'm not a sci-fi guy at all, and I think BSG is amazing.
