Snowcrash by Neal Stephenson is the best audio book I've listened to (twice now).
Neuromancer by William Gibson is a close second!
-
exactly. why would anyone RAID this is the question.
Fit in, or else... Drop-outs are threat to the american way of life, and terrorists to boot!

Wow. That video actually just blew my mind!
Going couch digging, praying for twoonies...
-
I think Seun is channeling Fela. So maybe it's not as original as in new, but it's the genuine article...
-- edit --
Not that I'm saying Femi isn't something special also, but I agree that he is likely the one taking it new places.
Just some late night ramblings...

Wow this is popping up everywhere these days. I heard about the Hopkins research a while back and am seriously shocked to see stories about the research results popping up everywhere. CBC, and Yahoo!
It's interesting stuff. I hope they can continue research. I really think the DTM guy Strassman opened the door for his contemporaries. Nice job!
For the google videos fans, check out the sacred weeds series...

I don't know about the rest of ya'll, but I had more than a couple of those hair tingling moments. Know what I mean??
I swear the ghost/spirit of Fela was in the house!

Hot hot show!!
Good to see you also Jay!
-
Yeah it's worth watching, definitely some funny moments... Make a double header out of it and also check out "Totally Baked".

That Lee Perry show was indeed dope. Best venue in the city awesome free dub beats! Looking forward to the same tonight, except less dub more funk!
-
Another free harbourfront show tonight! Just in case anyone didn't know about it.
Free afro beats, yeah!!
-
It was pretty good, but super teaser... I'm listening to some heavy ORB right now. Wwwwwweeeeeoooo!
Damn I love dub!

CBC radio 2: 94.1 in Toronto
-
Interesting:
Creaking Tree String Quartet, Blair Packham, sisters of Sheynville, foggy hogtown boys, porkbelly Futures and others as part of Toronto City Roots Festival, Distillery District, 1 pm-11pm, free. torontocityroots.com. And Jun 29 (1 to 7 pm). See preview, page 72.
-
Some other things worth noting:
Etobicoke Rib Fest!
Disc Golf on the island.
Holy faq, Lee Perry at Harborfront for free sounds really effin tastey... As does the Scofield show tonight. What style is he playing these days?
With a little luck I'll be driving a Skoolie (school bus camper) to my camp on Tuesday.
-
Ridiculous!
I can see the rationale for the bylaw in town. But it's insane for that to stand in bush property. I guess it really comes down to out of sight, out of mind...
-
Crap:
"The Township zoning by-law does not permit the use of “mobile†units e.g. trailers, converted buses etc. to be used as residential units without a zoning by-law amendment."
That doesn't sound good... Although my road is private and gated, and I have three neighbors. One is parking two large trailers, and another is parking a Westy for summers. So I guess I'd be taking a chance, but if no one complains.... hmmm....
-
The double decker sounds very cool!
This is what I'm looking at:
-
I had to get rid of the trailer on my land because in Haliburton Township it is against the bylaw to have a camper or bus parked on your property.
That is ridiculous! I can't believe it. Did someone see it and report you or something?
Pretty sure trailers are allowed, but I guess I should look into it. I'm not even sure where to look that up... hmmmm...
-
according to the HWTA:
Length of vehicle
(6) Subject to section 110, no vehicle, other than a fire apparatus, a semi-trailer or a bus, including load, shall exceed the length of 12.5 metres while on a highway. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 109 (6).
I think it would be under or close to 12.5. It's also not considered a school bus if it is not painted chrome yellow with stop signs and school bus signs. Wiwi says a school bus weighs about 14,000 lbs which comes to about 6350 kilos.
I think I could make a good argument for a G license.
-
C for camper
Thanks!
-
My vision is a school bus that functions as a camper. I just have no idea what it would take to drive something like that? The vehicle is a school bus, but it's an RV, not so much a people mover.

hah - licensed I guess
what should i do with 10 grand?
