  1. Loved it start to finish. I have been saying since last season that I was not impressed with the direction Bubbles was heading- always worked up with the whiny "Boys!!" voice, a far cry from the character whose first line in the series was a meek "This is my best friend Julian". But anyway, it would take a lot more than that to turn me off of this show, I am loving it more than ever and am only dissapointed with the fact that there are only 3 more new shows this season- and not enough J-Roc. How about Ricky stoned on contact cement seeing purple squirrels?

Julian: Just pretend you ate a bunch of mushrooms and go with it...hahahaha

  2. Just got back from the advance screening of the first 2 episodes of season 4. Thank you, Freekerbythespeaker!!! One word: unbelievable!! Great to see it on the big screen, too. I actually think that the second episode was better (although there was no J-Roc; but wait until you see "Smokey", hahaha), but the first one didn't disappoint. There are some hilarious plot developments, let me tell you. Don't miss episode 1 Sunday night!!!

  3. I'll throw a couple of coppers into the pot.....I think that learning and playing covers is a very valuable tool. Not only are you learning your instrument and insight into someone else's songwriting, but you're also tipping your hat to the influence. That's the way I see it. I still love the early nineties heavy stuff (Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots- I think I just read about a new radio format, "classic alternative", wtf?) because that was the first stuff I saw being played live when I started to go to bars. Paul MacAusland (ex front man singer for Haywire) had a heavy cover band called Lugnuts and, I swear, he used to sing the shit better than the original artists. Doc's Corner, every Wednesday, all summer. Drunken memories...

And to keep with the Beatles theme Kung, I have always wanted to see a band cover "Don't Let Me Down"....

  4. Well, I don't know whether to vote for who I think is the best musician, most influential, best songwriter, who I would rather be stranded on an island with(ooh) or who would most likely survive on an island(ha!), so I guess I'll just go with my favourite...and my least favourite music out of what's here would sadly be:

    Elvis Presley

  5. Hey there, after the show last night in Northampton, I just wanted to say thanks to Bones for hooking us up with tix. I personally was blown away by the size of the production and the crowd that was there (approx. 1200-1500 people @ $20). Show was June 15, 1985 (wicked Terrapin and a nice U.S. Blues closer). I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would see the band again sometime. Hope all is well north of the border...

  6. Just go back from this show. Wow. I'm a huge fan, and this didn't disappoint. Nice blend of old and new. I understand how you might not like the music as much, Jaimoe, but the production of this concert was astounding. I was slightly let down that Manu Katche wasn't playing drums, but there were no slouches on the stage. Powerful, intricate music and stage presentation. Expensive trip for me, but well worth it and long awaited. Also the most expensive merchandise I have EVER seen($45 for the CHEAPEST t-shirt- $55 for a baseball hat). And still I bought a shirt. Drat. I'll regret it on the way to Kingston tomorrow.
