  1. I did. And I also saw the ridiculous price to have it shipped to Canada. I think I will pass on the matchbook, order from Amazon.ca and save myself almost as much as they album will cost.
  2. I agree. The fees and charges paid on the discounted ticket added up to 30.4 % of the ticket price. Payday loan places don't even get that!
  3. If I had been able to place it all on a single order the discounted ticket would have cost $88.
  4. [color:purple]I have no idea who said that.
  5. My discounted ticket came to $96.50 My regular priced tickets came to $121.50 each
  6. I wish I could attend this show, but I will be at TURF instead.
  7. A whole bunch of stuff that is coming to Ottawa Folk Festival that I haven't heard before.
  8. M Ward, Milk Carton Kids, Sun Kil Moon and Joss Stone along with the already announced headliners add up to a fest where it is pretty easy to get your $100 worth pretty quickly. Does Mark own a piece of Blue Rodeo or is he their biggest fan?!
  9. Thanks POG, I didn't even notice that. There are some cool Ryan Adams recordings in there I have never heard.
  10. This is one of the best collection of The Band live that I have seen on the interwebs: http://www.ousterhout.net/mp3/theband.html
  11. So far it looks like this will end up being pretty similar to the Boston Calling festival lineup:
  12. Saturday last year was ridiculous too. Great little festival.
  13. And today's clue is most certainly The National.
  14. Either way I am happy. Love em both.
  15. Hell yeah! And hoping that yesterday's clue (a picture of the eternal flame at Parliament Hill) means The National.
  16. I didn't go the first year and have never seen Ray Lamontagne so this is fine with me.
  17. There has been a date change this year, it will now be the weekend before Labour Day on Saturday August 23rd. Ray LaMontagne Daniel Lanois Bruce Cockburn Boris Brott Gord Downie, The Sadies And The Conquering Sun Los Lobos Sarah Harmer Ron Sexsmith & more http://www.harvestpicnic.ca/ Great lineup, great little one day festival- but I am hoping that they add Neil and Crazy Horse. They kind of owe us that from last year considering Neil is doing make up dates for the European festivals that he is performing at to replace the cancelled dates from last year.
  18. If you've never been but were thinking of going just to tape, I want to warn you; The venue is a very large tent with lots of tables seated or with people standing on them all the way back. Unless you got a nice spot up front (and even then I don't know where you'd clamp your mics) the recordings would be chatty at best. Just go and have fun! Or bribe someone for a board patch ;-)
  19. The Wood Brothers and CRB would be a great fit and Gord/ Sadies are playing everywhere else so why not Ottawa too? And the radius exclusion for other shows that is in most festival contracts would certainly not apply!
  20. Wow! http://www.harvestjazzandblues.com/ moe. Chris Robinson Brotherhood The Wood Brothers Dr. John Gord Downie and The Sadies Galactic Blues Traveler Robert Randolph and The Family Band Buckwheat Zydeco Arkells Joel Plaskett and more.....
  21. It is an awesome venue. If you were going to see a show at the Molson Amp and stopped in for a beer at the patio on the left after crossing the ped walkway you were right at the entrance to Echo Beach. For those familiar with the old layout of Ontario Place- this was the kids waterpark area. The entire area surrounding the main stage is sand. They will sell you a flip flop/ shoe check option for $5. The big thing I have learned from getting in to the venue early a couple of times (vending): Don't be the first one to buy a beer from any of the stands surrounding the main stage area. The cases sit on the ground in the sun until 15 minutes before doors open, when the ice is finally delivered. Go to the patio bar, those are always cold.
  22. dave-O was up at midnight on a school night. That is the real story here folks.
