  1. If anyone still needs day passes, especially for Built to Spill I just noticed on facebook marketplace that there is one day pass for the 13 for sale for $20. Not bad for Cat Empire, Metric, BTS and Tokyo Police Club.....Loads of other tickets but that is awesome.
  2. Page France should be good, and Xavier Rudd is always fun to see live......
  3. I can call a spade a spade: I am a total newbie to this 11 day Bluesfest Marathon. Its also the getting up at 6:30am every day that is partly to blame.......Or the 10 or so beers I keep drinking every night.
  4. -Go see a ship travel down the locks at the Welland Canal on the way to or from Niagara Falls. -Fort George, Niagara or York are very cool (George is my fav) again if you are heading to Niagara Falls along with Balls Falls Conservation area near Beamsville is an awesome free place -The beaches on Toronto Island
  5. Sounds like a good night for this plan: Nap> Huge Dinner> Mindless TV> Bed My all time favorite jam!
  6. Yeah, uuuuum...........no Finally something worthwhile comes out of your mouth!
  7. FRIDAY JULY 13th: Cat Empire 7:00 Tokyo Police Club 7:45 Built to Spill 8:15 Metric 9:30 Fucking Eh!

    Buddy Guy

So you stay home sick from work to attend more concerts? Good on ya AD.
  9. Yay! They will bring the heat, but we aren't going to see a 40 minute Rebubula. Los Lobos will satisfy.........
  10. I've been watching for that and so far I haven't seen a bag even "felt up"; let alone opened up. Be careful once inside the site though, when you go over to the River stage there is another security gate and they seemed to be checking bags much more thoroughly there. I watched Mute Math from behind the Rogers stage due to their presence and kept my 6 pack intact. S
  11. And after Cat Power you can probably catch Jet Airliner, The Joker and Take the Money and Run. Its going to be a hits filled set for sure. I also read in a few places that his shows are now somewhat rare since an illness, and that he is "exploring the improv end of the blues on the current tour".
  12. Have fun........... It only comes once a year! Sean
  13. If I win tickets I'll be there........
  14. Great playing on a great cd there Jeff! My girlfriend is smitten with Elkas voice..
  15. Don't forget that Grady is opening for SMB. Grady features some of the former members of Big Sugar and have a fairly solid reputation so far...... Also the Mighty Popo (not weenie) is at 6:15pm on the Black Sheep stage; and Cat Power is at 8 on the Rogers Stage. I have not been too exposed to either, but the few bits and pieces I have heard seem to be pretty good. SO yeah, I will be there. Sean
  16. Sorry its a day late, I hope its not a dollar short. Happy birthday! Get settled already so I can come over and mess up the place! Sean
  17. I loved the enterprising Sandal booth that got their moneys worth out of their 50 cent text messages by continually sending them that read "Go buy the rope sandals by the River Stage. They are great!" Obviously the message was well received........ Sean
  18. Manu was fun, but the Black Sheep stage was incredible. I couldn't go back for Manu after I settled in. Best show of Bluefest until the Whites showed up. Did I see a message that said "Andre Bouchard, you had better be here" during the White Stripes last night?
  19. Chicken Chimichanga and Fiesta Rice at Mexicali's for $8.50 and I could barely finish the whole thing........ We also brought in our own food last night with no problems. S
  20. All they are doing is a quick pat and a glance inside. Cover your beers in a jacket and sweatshirt. It also helps to tell them what they are about to see when they ask to search your bag. Twice I said "Its just my sneakers and a sweatshirt" with those items right on top. I have taken 2 full cases of Bud onto the site so far, in addition to a mickey of rum each evening.
  21. What an experience. It was everything I love about music. To quote Jaimoe: "Ball and Motherfucking Biscuit!" Dead Leaves, and The Dirty Ground and 300 MPH Torrential Outpour Blues were my other favs. Also we were walking by the Bronson Center on our way to the show last night and saw a bunch of people standing around. Too bad I wanted to get to the Pho stand so bad, as it sounds like we missed a shot at the secret show. Oh well, I really don't know how I could have squeezed more live music into one weekend. 10/10 all the way. Sean
  22. And we're all still standing! Thanks B I was thinking about this show all day........ Mmmmm Reba opener. Too bad I didn't know you then, I was in Row E right behind you.
  23. Dylan requested that the screens not be used. He even tried to have security confiscate ALL cameras at the gate, which was denied by the organizers. He also refused to participate in the Best Seats auction which goes to charity. But he did do what I went to see. 4th Dylan show in the past 3 years and I liked it a whole lot. My only complaint is that is was a pretty cookie cutter set from someone I have come to expect the opposite from. I only got one first timer last night (Girl from the North Country) and in the past have seen at least 3 to 4 per show. Sean
  24. I've got to run to Canadian Tire to pick up some chairs and then I'll be there
