I don't have time to read this whole thread, but you people are both smart and informed. The one thing that should also be mentioned is that there are two or three distinct types of chairs and I cannot believe the nerve of some people taking in their huge recliner type chairs. I think some of the chairs there last night easily occupied the space of 5 or 6 people when you include the legs sprawled out on the footrest and the arms with 4 foot wingspans. Talking about it last night I think we only have to wait about 2 more years. If they want to keep upping the attendance and making more money they can't unless they limit chairs, or find a (nother) new location.

Since the proliferation of digital cameras I think the standing policy at most venues, is that is cannot be deemed a professional quality camera ie. Don't show up with some $4000 beast with a telescopic lens and you will be ok.

I just sold my two "extras" for $$$ for beer and couscous! This fest as if possible, just got better.

I won't steal this topic for the rest of Bluesfest, but I cannot possibly be more excited about tonights impending performance by THE MAN. Just knowing I am going to see Bob tonight has me Rollin and Tumblin......... I hope to be amidst those awesome 30 or so smiling faces that seem to follow me around town since my arrival. Hopefully security staff get some training courses today ;-) Sean (and Nina!)

During the Bluesfest wrap up from last night, I just saw them both on the ACHannel news!

Two things: Awesome greatest hits set. I was thrilled to hear Into the Mystic....... I got in without my ticket being ripped along with Nina, so we both have bracelets and tickets to sell! Great night, considering I was home in bed by 10:01. I will be out in full force for Bobby D tonight.

Its been raining often but not alot in Ottawa. We keep getting rainfalls of less than 2mm, mostly during the day which evaporates quickly. With my luck and Bluesfest starting today, we can expect the animals to be lining up 2x2 until July 15th...........

Sadies song was a traditional song about fishing, with lyrics about Stephen Harper added?. Also IMHO there is no way on earth Brooke Miller is married to Don Ross. She was about 20 years, and many other things his junior. Just an opinion though, the guitar does seem to attract nice looking ladies.

Not without shattering the glass (I tried that on my first day in the apt and the landlord was not too happy)............ And at that point I figure they could just break any window without a screen and get in anyways. I did not expect this when I moved to Ottawa :-(

Great info, considering I live about 3 blocks from you and am in a ground floor apartment. Question: How old are the windows in your place? My theory in my place is that since they are old and I can't get them open more than 2 inches that no one would be able to crawl through that. But then again crack addicts are really really thin. My apt sent out a notice about the thefts last week. Did yours? Just wondering........
