  1. "...after the Rheos" so I guess 11:30? (It's a bit late for a senior-citizen like me, but I do have an easily twistable rubber arm.)
  2. You thinking of coming out to ths SP? I may or may not go, and so far I think I'm on my own if I do. Does anyone have a link to a website of the opening band, ideally with some streaming tunes?
  3. Theme: songs having to do with sleep, insomnia, sleeping in, staying in bed....you get the picture....all in the name of bringing cosmic forces to bear upon a solid night of sleep for Mister Slippery 1. Jack Johnson - Banana Pancakes 2. Phish - Lengthwise 3. The Beatles - I'm So Tired 4. Frank Zappa - Zomby Woof 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12.
  4. Well, he's no Fela, but he's the next-best-thing, and he's coming to the Commodore on July 26!
  5. Hey, a Suicidal Tendency is in the band? That is very relevant! Cool! (One more point in favour of attending this show.)
  6. This has been helpful. I will probably catch their show. The reason I posted this is that I had actually only heard bad things about their shows over the last few years. It's nice to hear that others have had good experiences though. Depending on what's going on that night, I will probably endure an evening at a serious cougar-bar, complete with hardcore pornography posted in the men's room, given that it's likely I'll catch some good tunes.
  7. I always think it is better to regret having done the things you've done, rather than regretting not having done those things. I can see this turning out such that you start listening to this band as a result of hearing about their last show, and then every time they come up in conversation forever saying, "Y'know, I almost saw them at their last show. I don't know what I was thinking. That was my chance, and it's gone now." (I couldn't care less about taking up a spot more suited to a devoted fan.)
  8. I'm thinking of catching a Fisbone show in a couple of weeks in Whistler. I'm listening to a show now, and it sounds okay albeit with a bit of a muddy sound. Has anyone here seen them any time recently who can comment on whether or not they're worth seeing? (They are playing at a fairly lame venue in Whistler, which is one reason I am a bit reluctant, so I either need encouragement to go, or confirmation that I shouldn't.)

  15. AD: I suggest making an appeal to the members of the board at www.upstreamentertainment.com . They can be very helpful.
  16. May 25th – Vancouver, BC Canada – Commodore Ballroom http://www.hob.com/venues/concerts/commodore/ I'm definitely catching his show in Toronto. This will be incredible.
  17. Credibility is a funny thing. It takes many years to build up, and only a few poorly chosen words to destroy. I can only speak from my own perspective, but I believe that any credibility you had, if there was any, is long gone. Feel free to insult me, now.

  20. I find that I really love half of this album, and equally dislike the other half.
  21. The only other cassette that was only released as a cassette, as far as I remember, was called "Live" and was actually recorded in Ottawa. It could've been on that, too.
  22. You mean it was on "Promise of Spring"? I don't remember that at all. (That cassette was never re-released.)
  23. Theme: Songs by bands that should have been huge but weren't 1. Spirit - Mr. Skin 2. 54-40 - One Gun 3. furnaceface - About To Drown 4. Days of You - The Pin 5. hHead - Remedial 6. Andrew Cash - Hey Maria 7. All That - Collegiate Dope Slingaz 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. What disc is "The Pin" on by Days of You? I can't even recall that song. For that matter, who submitted it here?
  24. Through inductive reasoning, I surmise that the instrumental song is about a Japanese monster.
