  6. Hey, look at this thread that seems to have slipped through the cracks. Good work Stoned Phillips. I'm impressed. A worthy cause, indeed; and one I will certainly sponsor.

  9. I like to think I don't "fit in" to any "scene".
  10. Well, actually, your comment tends to beg the question. You refer to "like minded souls" and "drugs". If you read my comments, you'll see that those two factors play no part whatsoever in my decisions to see / listen to jammy music (or any music, actually).
  11. I'm gettin' into some Russian tunes. I'm listening to a disc by "Aquarium" (aka "Akvarium") called "Zoom Zoom Zoom". Pretty good stuff; although I've heard some better music by these guys, including blues and reggae. (I hear the lyrics are good, too, but my Russian is not exactly fluent, to say the least.)
  12. No. I will when I'm not working if no one posts it here. Can anyone say "lazy"...
  13. It says there are other dates to be announced. I happen to know of a promoter who has been trying to land them for a show (somewhere other than Ontario) on a date that I see is not yet taken. Does anyone know where I can see an updated tour list? Can someone just post that here?
  14. Hey, I'll come clean here and admit that I was not aware of half of those already listed. This is definitely a tough theme; but worth the effort!
  15. Do ya dig Don Ross? Well, so does Don Alder... 'Grarry on the Run' by Don Alder
  16. Here's that link one more time...
  17. Thank you for the comments, p.p. I will say this: I think both bands are excellent and entertaining as hell. I would see either one any time. I don't want to say which show I am going to, because I don't want to influence anyone either way. In either case, I expect the show will be stellar, and the deciding factor for me in this case was actually my wife, who specifically chose one band over the other.
  18. Given that I made a short, sarcastic, off-topic comment, I will post again. I come for the music. I only come for the music. I do not come out for the "hedonism" and I have little interest in meeting people or socializing. I am there for the music, and that is all. Am I always blown away? Usually, I am not. There was a time that I usually was blown away. I don't know whether I have gotten old and less-easily impressed, or if it is something else, but I usually come out of shows with my heart beating at the same rate as when I went in. I almost always dance, but that is because I want to. I only find that the "music moves me" about 10% of the time anymore. I still usually have fun, but the "wow factor" is mostly gone. As far as the "size" of the band, that really doesn't matter to me. Of course The Grateful Dead always blew me away. Phish almost always did, too. That said, Days of You used to blow me away most nights, and Bob Loblaw never failed to blow me away. The same goes for God Street Wine, who put on killer shows, despite having only dozens of people in attendance. In conclusion... (I have no point; just lotsa words.)
