  1. Beautiful (except for the Toronto venue)! He is always incredible live!
  2. As you'd guess, that is most of the music they play; extremely well, actually.

    Dave Lauzon?

Wouldnt that put you out of work? Not at all. I don't even know what you mean.

    Dave Lauzon?

Okay, I've seen a lot of comments like this on this board, and I have to make a comment of my own. I am pretty anal about spelling and grammar. That said, a very close person to me suffers from dyslexia and makes very similar errors to those made by Jared. This fact has made me far more tolerant of poor spellng. (I am not saying he is dyslexic, to be clear.) Obviously, Jared didn't make spelling errors on purpose. For all we know, he is dyslexic. The same holds true for others on here who make similar errors. Don't pick on people.

    Dave Lauzon?

Jared: Dave is the guitarist for nero. He's a great guy, and would never intentionally spam anyone. You were probably on nero's list.
  6. This made me laugh. Someone on another board just saw George Clinton and P-Funk in Vancouver. It was terrible, and I can relate, because I'd seen the same fiasco, years ago. Anyway, this was one quote from the middle of his long, scathing review:
  7. Theme: Songs about Suburbia 1. The Les Claypool Frog Brigade - Buzzards of Green Hill 2. Rush - Subdivisions 3. Live - Shittown 4. John Mellencamp - Pink Houses 5. Petshop Boys - Suburbia 6. Frank Zappa - It Can't Happen Here 11. 12.
  8. I'd say so, given that he released "Does Humour Belong in Music".
  9. theme: Songs Dylan Covered 1. Jerry Jeff Walker - Mr. Bojangles, 2. Gordon Lightfoot - Early Morning Rain 3. Eric Von Schmidt - Baby Let Me Follow You Down 4. Danko/Robertson - Bessie Smith 5. 10. My girlfriend (at the time) once found my cat sleeping in a corner, with my roommate's ball python next to him, with its head raised trying to figure out how to attack. The idiot was too useless to keep his snake in its aquarium. (The worst part is that that story is about the nicest thing I can say about that roommate, actually.)
  11. Alright, I admit it. I chose the worst theme ever. Someone please just finish this off, already, though and put me out of my misery. (DEM made a suggestion for a song by a great artist. Why not input that one and get yourself the chance to name the new, undoubtedly better, theme.)
  12. Beatiful CJ. No doubts here. This theme may come to an end yet...
  13. Okay, I'm actually going to try to be fairly indulgent here, and let a frew go that I might not otherwise, because the reasons they might qualify are actually pretty clever and this theme might take forever if I edit too brutally... Next Theme: Song Titles That Are or Include Homophones 1. Frank Zappa - Sheik Yerbouti Tango 2. The Who - Love Reign O'er Me 3. John Coltrane - Chasin' The Trane 4. Bright Eyes - Gold Mine Gutted 5. Charlie Parker - Chasin'The Bird 6. Prince - If Eye Was The Man In Ur Life 7. Saint John The Gambler - Another Stranger Plays The Muse 8. Grateful Dead - Drumz>Space 9. 10. 11. 12.
  14. Frankly, I barely see how about half of these count.
  15. Wow, my theme is actually taking over twenty-four hours to complete.
  16. I feel just slightly more nerdy, just by having read this thread.
  17. I wish, Brad. I sincerely doubt it. I would even settle for a reunion of their guitarists doing the old tunes, which would be a much more realistic possibility. Hint; hint... to the guitarists in question.
  18. Well, I don't even care if I'm just talking to myself in this thread, at this point. I'm gonna keep right on doing that. So, here's a little ditty by a band of hooligans from Ottawa, in the mid-90s. Here's a copy of 'Mi Ritmo' by Bob Loblaw (aka one of the many bands Velvet's been in) This song was originally just the four guys jamming during sound-check, checking all different sounds by running through scales. Then, one day, Paul started singing, "My rhythm is a monster" and one of the coolest songs was born...
  19. Here's a little bump for these Canadian boys, who are still out there on the road...
  20. Trust me when I say that seeing Zakir Hussain live is a near-mystical exprience.
  21. Where is everybody? Let's keep this theme moving...
