best of teh neville brothers playing at the moment, been into some john hiatt already, what an amazing site!
HOW ARE THEY GETTING AWAY WITH THIS?This website is pretty awesome.
i think that they've used windoze media player streaming only format. i don't think that there's any way of actually downloading from them, whether or not this too will be shut down only time will tell. in the meantime, cheers to dimafleck for pointing this out!!

oh, and your location still says Toronto. That's no longer the case, is it? Or is it just that your heart is still there? (I think that my heart might *still* be there, for all of hawt-a-wah's strong points)
what he said
good one on the link...

indeed. thanks, can!!!

dear hamilton,
what do you get when you multiply six by nine?

*sigh* missed another brilliant one, i see.
hugh's room is by far one of the most civilized places i've ever seen a show. saw stephen fearing there last winter from a very comfy table after enjoying a wonderful dinner & bottle of wine with niffermouse. what a great setup!
so...was it recorded??

thanks for the post, greg, i have yet to find a real audio feature on the interweb that i can actually play on my pc without it first "contacting real networks for software upgrades" then informing me that no upgrades exist for my real player.
i've been putting off rebirthing my pc as an xp box, maybe this is (another) sign that it's time

cheers, d rawk, very enjoyable reading.
i particularly miss the morning show...the 2 that are on now, while they have improved a great deal, still really suck.
i will give them credit for randomly reaching in to the vast CBC music library, there have been some wonderful surprises in terms of tunes spun in the morning, which rarely happenned pre-lockout.
I hope promo girl is well..I miss her cheesey haphazard adventures...maybe she and jian gomeshi have taken advantage of their new-found free time and have finally become an item

i stopped for gas at the independent station outside of acton here just before the latest chaos started...as i drove past the esso station, i saw that they were at $1.01 per litre.
halfway through filling up, i noticed that i was paying $1.23 per litre! when i asked the attendant, he told me that when they had their last fill up, that's where the price point was. as an independent, they have to pay the wholesaler whatever the spot price is when their underground tank is filled. the corporate stations are able to adjust prices up & down and are reimbursed by their corporate masters. they have 20 000 l of gas to sell, and if they lower their price, they take it on the chin.
naturally, business has dropped off for them, as most folks dont realize how the wholesale world of gas works...and hux makes an excellent point, all levels of government are basically powerless to make a substantive change to the price of gas.
in an effort to avoid buying gas from companies that behave unethically (shell possibly whacking ken saro-wiwa, esso/exxon-mobil battling kyoto, etc) i've been forced to put my money where my mouth is

There is reason for what I do and my "long winded-ness" helps me in affirming what it is I am trying to change in the world.
I give up...my comments had nothing to do with yours, but with the whole god letter.I apologise for ever opening my mouth in this thread.
hey greg...this was not posted to make anyone mad, more to entertain. i was handed a paper copy of it last weekend and found that it was very silly but spot on...i mean, if there was indeed a god, he/she would probably be mad that we here on earth were collectively behaving like weenies toward one another, and that was the spirit in which this was posted. Your reply and quote hit the nail on the head in a way that three humourous pages did not...

don't you mean "...posse of sunglass-wearing earpiece connected' date=' dark suited, SUV driving [/b']thugs."
Quite right - those are the guys
.
fortunately, even the earpiece thugs are getting worried about the End Of Oil...and as this invention isn't replacing the product that their masters put out, the guy might not disappear.

All that would need to happen next would be to replace gasoline with hemp oil....
The conspiracy theorist in me sees this guy getting whisked out of his house in the middle of the night into a black limousine by a posse of sunglass-wearing thugs.

I have a dilemma. On the one hand, I love you. On the other hand, I really want to punch you, very very hard.
What am I to do?
thanks,
Marc.

I hate that Rick Danko died young and poor.
Especially when I listen to him sing "Makes No Difference".
Kinda makes me hate Robbie Robertson too. Anybody interested in The Band MUST read Levon Helm's book This Wheel's On Fire. I just finished it last night.
while hate is a strong word, i'd have to say that on balance, i think i hate robbie robertson. great guitarist, but a pretentious wanker of a person.
i also think i hate engineers, and i don't feel particularly well disposed toward raisins.
what movies make you cry?
