  1. That was great. Hearing the one or two producers laugh was testament to Colberts funny... My favourite moment: O'Reily: What are you doing? Colbert: I'm doing you.
  2. I picutre popo weenie typing on this poor keyboard with no shift keys and no apostrophe! I'm really glad to have popo weenie around.
  3. Atleast we'll be in the playoffs Hal. Great game tonight! Wow. Go Sens Go
  4. Sorry if this has already been posted, but I found this a bit of a "pot porri" of musical interest...
  5. Let the Disney World of Live Music begin. Oh yeah, its already begun.
  6. This only needs minor tweaking to become the sort of thing people are still reading 200 years from now. I'm entirely serious. dude, i totally hear you the comma as an apostorphe is completely intoxicating yes y,all
  7. WTF!!! I'm calling out fickle Sens fans. This is their year... and it would of been their year long ago if they had fans as loyal and Leaf and Hab fans. The Sens have Character in Spades. Just look at them now!
  8. That's too bad! Looks like the Suns played great though maybe a little light on the dunks, but raining threes, and a couple 10+ pont comebacks! Nash played another MVP game with 14 assists and putting in enough points to put them in the Win colum, and another game Rafer Alston proved that he was a 30pt. liability. Oh well, the brilliance of Nash is subtle... kind of like Wade Reddens game... it's all about Wins, and for a little guy from the west, both Nash and Redden are marquee players.
  9. F@ckin fashionistas'. The only thing that matters about a f@cking uniform is that it is a different coulour than the other teams, and you can see the number on the back. Once you get the uniform of the team you support, you don't need another one until the beer stains start to create holes. If your team has an ugly uniform as an excuse, you probably weren't going to win anyways.
  10. Huzah! Spezza-Vermette-Scheafer would make a great line, Fisher-Neil-Schubert would be scary, especially with Volchecov and Phillips on D... 4th line of Eaves-McAmmond-McGratton/Hamel/Comrie Who The fuck cares! Maybe my pre-season preminission of 3 lines of terror is destined!! Oh yeah!... but I digress. Big ups to the Montreal fans who came prepared with paper bags! Nice "goal" by Vermette on the breakaway where his stick snapped at the bend, his blade went into the net (5 hole), and the puck went to the corner. Say hi to Boiler Rat for me Booche! Be gentle! Sorry I won't be at Nero tonight, I have to get this bandwagon ready... I'm expecting company!
  11. Sens will win today, because they had two 3pm games last weekend, and they'll be more used to it. That's my proline pick of the day! Either way, it's looking like a good chance these two are going to meet in the first round of the playoffs! Have a good game! Go Sens!
  12. Wow! Neat show last night! SoulJazz opened to a half empty room, and finished to a roaring appreciative crowd who had filled the dance floor (and effectively collapsed the "Toronto Bubble")who called the Band back out for an encore. Heard some good news from the Boys. Seems like they have a top 10 single in the UK, and they are making the arrangements to go over there and tour... hopefully sometime in 2007. Their New Album "Freedom No Go Die" is stellar! And they are probably right now as I'm typing this, finishing up their Photo Shoot with Now Magazine. Seems like they will be on the cover preceeding their next show Feb. 24th at the Rivoli. I knew these guys were good, but I think EVERYBODY is good (except the Leafs!)... anyways, I'm just so happy cause these are some big, exciting steps for a band, and it couldn't be happening to a nicer group of guys. So, Souljazz finally leave the stage for the Elastocitizens to take over! Eye-Candy Over the Top Funk-Rock... (The rock was provided by a guitar player who dipped into the odd power chord and country slide solo). Horns, Keys, a Monster drummer (hidden in the back), a bevvy of Barkers Beauties singing, chorus lining, rapping, and just looking good up front (side note: I can't confirm this, but I'm 90% sure that the girl in the purple on the left of the stage was the actor who played the Lesbian character on Train 48!! Fuck yeah!)... and it was all lead by the "Grand Pubah of Funk", who was part Tinsel Jesus, part Elvis, part Mick Jagger, part Ace Freshley, part George Clinton... This show was definately an "I was there" moment! Great entertainment... one Hot Night!
  13. What about: Chameleon Project Slowcoaster Vanderpark Mr. Something Something Blue Quarter Grand Theft Bus Burt Neilson What the Thunder Said Fat Cats Wassabi Collective SoulJazz Orchestra and any of the other bands listed above!
  14. 1. First game ever of houseleague when I was 4... Mom had no idea about what to do, so I just got dressed and went out on the ice. There were Bantams out there at center talking to the coach... I skated over, and they helped me back off the ice... you gotta learn the hard way. 2. Good ol' ground ball in the eye when it kicked up with alot of spin playin' first base... it was black for a while. 3. The worst was playing afterschool football. Played until twilight, and at the end when we were just throwing the ball around, I laid out for a bomb, and everthing was going well, caught the ball and turned around to see the soccer goal post about 6 inches from my face... I missed, but at the expense of my ankle. I was out for 6 weeks!
  15. The Leafs are so close to 13th place I can taste it.
  16. Where have you guys been! Fackin' Sens fans! CHEER!... Look how much better it makes the Habs and Labs!
  17. [blurb]Tonight, Friday Jan.12th, performing a James Brown Inspired funk set at the HorseShoe Tavern, will be Ottawa's own SoulJazz Orchestra. Also joining SoulJazz will be Toronto's: Elastocitizens! I haven't seen them perform, but caught them on Speakers Corner promoing the show with some smooth Acapella Funk. And by the looks of thier YouTube promo, they got a big freaky, and funky show in the vein of P-Funk... should be fun! Wha more do you want?[/blurb] SoulJazz Bio Since 2002, the Ottawa-based band has been keeping the classic sounds of raw, gritty groove alive and well in Canada. Their style combines jazz, funk, African and Latin music with messages touching on politics and spirituality. The blaring horns, retro keyboards and polyrhythmic beats show the influence of James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Fela Kuti and Tito Puente, but the sound remains refreshingly original. Their stylistic variety is in part due to the diverse musical backgrounds of the band’s individual members : jazz, funk, blues, reggae, classical, and traditional Cuban, Brazilian and West African percussion. The Souljazz Orchestra has had the chance to collaborate with notable artists such as Beautiful Nubia and Mighty Popo, and has opened up for Etta James, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, John Lee Hooker Jr., The Sadies, Fred Eaglesmith, and more. The band has appeared at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Ottawa Jazz Festival, the Ottawa Blues Festival, and the Ottawa Tulip Festival. The Souljazz Orchestra released their second album, Freedom No Go Die, in September of 2006. This high-energy release focuses mainly on afrobeat music, and features the vocal stylings of Mighty Popo, Alanna Stuart and Marielle Rivard. The album is already creating quite a stir in the dancefloor jazz scene, prompting legendary DJ Gilles Peterson from BBC Radio 1 to enthuse, "That's made for music, that is!" Exclaim! Magazine went on to state that "the Ottawa quintet […] craft a sound as tight as the power fists that adorn the cover. Songs of resistance, revolution and positivity in the best of the afrobeat tradition.†The album is soon to be re-released worldwide through Do Right! Music, a Toronto-based label showcasing Canada’s best new jazz, funk, hip-hop and electronic music. The Souljazz Orchestra's all-original debut album, Uprooted, was released in April of 2005, also to critical acclaim. The Ottawa Fulcrum stated that the album "captures the energy and bounce that is characteristic of their live show" and that it is "definitely an all-around feel-good album, in that James Brown kinda way", while the Ottawa Sun noted that the band "lend itself equally well to afrobeat, modern jazz or JBs-style funk". Both releases have received worldwide airplay, mostly through public and campus radio, topping many Canadian station charts at #1. SoulJazz Orchestra Website Elastocitizens Website
