  1. Is tonight's game on pay-per-view only?
  2. I have nothing left to say, Alburger summed it up nicely!!
  3. Perfect example of sitting back on a lead and watching the game unravel last night. I love how Booche thinks 'the sky is falling' scenario is isolated to Sens fans. Turn on talk radio in any sports market after 3 losses in a row. Or better yet, tune into Montreal sports radio right now and hear all about Kovalev the Cancer!

    New Wilco

Tweedy's been calling it "dad rock" himself for a year or two now.
  5. I can't see the "top seeds rolling through their first round opponents" in the East when someone's going to have to face a hot team like NYI. Did anyone else see DiPietro make 57 saves last night?
  6. They've tested the 3 pts for a win vs. 0 points for an OT or SO loss vs. the current system on both current and historical data, and it RARELY makes a difference on the final standings. The consensus coming out of the GM meetings was "leave the game alone for a while", like Kev said. They're just coming off a season of major changes. It's not perfect, but it is better.

    BEER!!

McAuslan/St.Ambroise is my favourite brewery these days. The Apricot Wheat is golden nectar. The Oatmeal Stout is like none more black.
  8. I just had to resurrect this thread. Driving home yesterday, something caught my eye outside of Greco's...
  9. Funny stuff! The homemade lemonaide was the bomb too. I've got a great picture of a huge line-up in front of that place, while there's no one at the other falafel shop across the street.
  10. I had the best falafel sandwich of my life in the Marais in Paris this summer.
  11. The new album Sky Blue Sky, streaming in its entirety, tonight only. http://wilcoworld.net/sbs/
  12. I only saw the highlights, so I'll take your word for it.
  13. Brutal hit from a guy that plays 4 minutes a game on a guy that plays 25+ minutes. Now that was a real LATE hit, for those of you that thought the Neil hit was too. It was so far behind the play the refs were already in the other end! Brutal.
  14. The problem I see here is that the Oilers grossly overpaid when re-signing guys like Horcoff, Hemsky and Pisani last summer. They made the mistake of not negotiating and extending Smyth before blowing the budget on the rest of them. $5 - 5.5 M doesn't look so bad for Smyth when you consider: Shawn Horcoff - Signed three-year, $10.8 million deal ($3.6 million/yr) Ales Hemsky - Signed six-year, $24.6 million deal($3.5 million/yr) Fernando Pisani - Signed four-year, $10 million deal ($2.5 million/yr) Jarret Stoll - Signed two-year, $4.4 million deal ($2.2 million/yr) Petr Sykora - Signed one-year deal, $2.9 million
  15. That's hilarious, Dinghy! What a way to endear yourself to the Ottawa fans...
  16. I've played both gigs and in hockey tournaments in Kirkland Lake.
  17. I can't navigate the APTN schedule, but here's the link: http://www.aptn.ca/content/blogsection/19/49/
  18. I still think that the Pens offer of Noah Welch for Roberts is better than the supposed late first rounder that was all the Sens needed to give up. So I'm going to take those reports as false.
  19. I got interviewed re: Nolan on my way into one of the Memorial Cup games last May. A small clip of the interview was used in the documentary. NorthernWish and I had been into the sauce and the film makers were especially amateurish, so this could have turned out VERY badly, but surprisingly I came across pretty well. And relatively sober too!
  20. It's easy to call the Habs short-term losers at the trade deadline because of what the Isles and Thrashers did. But Gainey kept all his kids got great return for Rivet. I still like them to squeak into the playoffs if they can get any goaltending at all.
  21. Don't get me wrong on the Boyes trade, you've gotta respect buying low and selling high and the Blues certainly bought low.
