  7. personally, I dont care if McCain thinks a christian president would be better than a non-christian president or that people vote based on a candidate's religion. what strikes me as problematic is that he is running as a candidate for president himself and essentially saying they because HE is christian he is superior to anyone who is not. ie., dont vote for that guy because he's a jew, or a muslim and worships a god incompatible with the founding principles of our nation.

  16. sweet. Dosh was opening for him in montreal. i would have preferred to see him. he was looping drums during the Bird set, so him on his own would have been fun. nothing like a drummer gone wild with technology. let us know what your GF thought of the show, AD.
  17. it's hard to tell people you went to see a guy who plays the violin and whistles, and make it sound cool. GREAT show! Bird played for almost 2hrs. its really interesting to watch him play to see how he loops the whistles, violin riffs. almost like brian eno is off stage tweaking knobs, but im pretty sure its just Bird doing it all himself. he played a lot of songs that I wanted to hear, like nervous tic, and fiery crash, scythian empire off armchair apocrypha. picked up the new CD at the show for $15 - so much better to put the $ in his pocket than HMV's. Montreal's Plants and Animals opened. (they played Hillside this year) pretty decent band, but the crowd was more into drinking than listening. (too bad too, his mother was there.) Dosh (Bird's drummer's project) is opening for other shows. anyone else go?
  18. better than Semisonic's, Matchbox 20's and Green Day's versions, but not as good as Tom Wait's seems to be a popular title
