  1. yes, Canada has changed since you've been away. prepare yourself!
  2. We noticed the song as well. Ive always thot that AshleyMadison somehow cleverly skirts the rules and is able to modify the song just enough to not have to acknowledge it or pay for it. Maybe they only use a small portion? They've done the same thing with all sorts of other songs (albeit, none of which I can remember specifically right now). And some of them are classic enuff songs that I figured if the artists had a way of going after them to stop, they would have. I wouldn't assume that The Hip got paid or even had any say in it.
  3. worst online ticket sale EVER!! nothing is working.
  4. two shows in BC, two shows in ALTA, Ottawa sucks, and they close NFLD for the winter. so really, montreal is the only odd man out, but by then it may not be in canada.

  7. ... are just rude ... like the guy who tossed his coins on to the counter to pay for his muffin this morning rather than simply placing them in the extended hand of the woman at the cash. ... and don't even get me started about cylclists reading their phones while riding on sidewalks on campus. /rant

  15. im in. ok, not "in" ... that likely won't happen, but i'm willing to pretend for $65 million. imagine the fabulous parties we could host. maybe even have kd lang and the scissor sisters play at the wedding.
  16. Sweet. Glad you had a good time, NR. Ive seen many shows there and that place used to be damp and cold. Im happy they put some money into it and updated it. Personally, I think the Phoenix is one of the best venues Ive ever been to anywhere. I love it there! The Opera House though, well, it's charmingly run-down and awkward inside. My least favourite venue is the Sound Academy. It saddens me that so many good shows are being put there. When it's empty, its one of the best venues in town. When it's sold-out, it is unquestionably the worst venue man has ever created.
  17. it's a nice area. for sure, j is right. very casual and friendly vibe for every show ive seen there. try to wander around a bit to the east afterwards. some cool spots to grab a bite and/or pint.
