My sister has in interesting story. She just moved back home from Sapin after living in Europe for years. Her son was born in England but by right should also be a canadian citizen. She tried to get him a health card a few weeks ago (he's 3yrs old if that matters)and they wouldnt give her one because he "wasnt Canadian". Her son has had health issues from the day one and its rather important for to be able to see a doctor on a reg basis. So to make a long story short, she fought with Canadian immigration (I'm assuming thats who it was) for quite some time and didnt make any headway. At some point a friend of hers suggested she contact her local MP (liberal)for help. She tried, but to no avail - the guy wouldnt return her emails/phone calls or anything. In steps Conservative guy running for local MP. Dude totally hooks her up, gets everything sorted out in no time at all. My nephew has his health card and canadian citizenship. Now one could argue dude just did this cuz he needs the votes, which very well may be true, but what the crap was the Liberals problem? My sister is torn now as she has been Liberal her whole life and she really doesnt like Steven Harper one iota, but she feels this guy went out of his way to help her. In fact she even told the guy, "you'd get my vote in the next election if it werent for Harper." To which he replied, "well thats why you have to vote for me so I can work my way to the top." Weird huh?

I know, eh? I wonder what their plans are for him next year? Where do you squeeze him in w/ Wells, Rios and Lind? Something tells me he'd benifit more from playing every day. Maybe they can turn him into a 1st basemen and trade Overbay to a National League team somewhere. Either that, or he'll sepnd next season in Triple A waiting for Rios or Wells to break a nail.

That's pretty funny. A girl here at work got two tix to see the Leafs in Buffalo for a combined $230 - 2nd row from the ice. She tried to compare prices in Toronto and couldnt even get a quote for the same type of seats. Closest she could get was $800 for 2 seats row 7.

Not to mention no one in their right mind would trade Jokinen for McCabe straight up.

I was thinking the Jersey thing would be more fun because there's humiliation involved. Losing a hundred bucks is really nothing (although I might get in trouble with the wife) but having to wear the sweater of your archrival? That's pretty much pricelss to me. Plus, the pictures would last forever. But oh well. It is what it is.

Money is boring, how's a boot you have to wear a Leafs jersey to the next show/concert/event that follows the season that we both attend. Naturally, I would have to do the same with the Ottawa Sens.
