  1. Last time they played Hamilton (Jan.), I heard there was a bit of a long break between the opener and their set, but the show started on time, around 10:30-11 (I think) and they played a 2 1/2 hour show. That seems reasonable to me. I still won't be going though.

  11. Been watching (off and on) via various live-stream feeds. Watched a lot of the Boston one the other night that had all the arrests and hundreds of cops, more-less breaking it up, that night anyway. As a long time union member, I was really happy to see the unions getting involved in NYC, especially in light of the US gov't's attempt at union breaking and the arrests of strikers that went on in Wisconsin. I imagine it won't be long before Harper jumps on that train of thought, hell, he already kinda did with Air Canada and Canada post by forcing them back to work. That's how it starts, next will be trades, food services etc etc. One thing I found rather funny was listening a dealers account of his 5 days in NYC before heading to Boston, apparently he made over 10k selling dope. Obviously not everyone is there to protest capitalism and greed.
  12. My thoughts are the cartel part of the story isn't finished just yet, at least it doesn't/didn't feel like it to me anyway. Great ending for the season, but if it were the show finale, I'd be a bit disappointed. Way too many loose ends in my opinion. Glad there will be another season.

  17. Yeah, I thought it odd that so many people didn't receive a card, or were even registered. Numerous friends claimed the same thing, especially in my area. When I left the polling station (high school gym) the line to register was probably 3x the line for registered.
  18. Go back and read the playoff thread, then tell me. I have no betting practice, in fact, last night was the first money bet I made on any sports team since the NBA was on pro-line. I just noticed something last season and took a chance last night after reading this thread before the game. If that's a tin foil hat conspiracy deal to you guys, then so be it. You guys obvious have different definitions then I.
  19. I've noticed an interesting trend, and actually used it to make a wager, and won. Anytime Habs fans start trashing the team they are playing (here, FB etc), they almost always lose. Last night game made me 50 bucks and a case of beer. I'm no leafs fan by any means, in fact I would normally bet on the Habs if unless they are playing Boston (then I don't bet, I never bet on my own team), but it was something I noticed during the playoffs, and decided to roll my luck on it last night. Anyway, thanks for the quart of sour diesel and case of 50 guys. I'm all set for a friday night now.
  20. Yeah, Ollie, I did. After reading your comment I went and pulled out my copies to double check, sure enough the option was checked. Not that it's really a big deal, it's not hard to call ahead and check, so I knew to bring a piece of mail with my address, and photo ID, but I just find it really strange that this has occurred the last three elections. Speaking with some friends last night and some of them had the same thing happen, one even had an elections Canada rep or something visit her to confirm the residents of her household earlier this year, yet didn't get a card, nor was on the list. If I actually subscribed to conspiracy theories, this would have me reeling. lol
  21. Just got back myself. Once again this year, I didn't receive a voting card, nor was on the list and had to provide ID, and proof of address. Not sure why this happens, but it's happened the last three times I've voted. My mother apparently was on the list, but didn't receive her card. Talking with the one of the girls working there I asked if they had been busy so far and she said that out of the 400 people listed from my area, only 55 had voted so far. Also, 25 more people (on top of the 55) were in the same boat as me and never received a voting card, nor were on the list. Disappointed to hear only 400 were registered for my area, especially since I live in an area with two huge apartment building, and easily 15 townhouse complexes (10-20 units per) and the entire residential area around the 4 schools. I'm also wondering about the number of us who just flat out didn't receive a voting card, nor were on the list to vote. Something really strange about that to me. Anyone know much about that? Why a bunch of us didn't receive a card or weren't on the list to vote but have voted in all the previous elections?
