  1. Hey all, I'm working on a little music project of my own, very bare and beginner. (Stemming from here, remember: http://www.jambands.ca/sanctuary/showtopic.php?tid/260124 ) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any good tips or ideas as to where I could cop a free piano session and record there. I'm thinking a lot of churches have decent pianos and are often not used during the weekdays. Or schools even...? Any other ideas? Just a shot in the dark, but figured might as well try. Thanks
  2. The encore was his cover of "A Case of You" which he first played on BBC earlier this year and then he started playing it in the live sets and its officially out on his newest EP "Enough Thunder".
  3. Beauty Joni Mitchell cover at the end too.
  4. I have a feeling he doesn't have too many fans in this board, but I been spinning this album since earlier this year and it is still my top fav. Anyway, I saw him in Montreal the other night and captured it all. Just wanted to share in case there are any fans:
  5. Lucky for you they are coming back to Hamilton on Nov 24 at the Casbah.

  7. I'm very close to jumping onto their Cable Extreme offering. Any new info / warning? How's it going for those who recently joined in?
  8. I used to be heavy in the LZ boots, this one was pretty good quality. Had an awesome Heartbreaker if my memory served me right.

  10. Bummer, was looking to bring a good entourage, it being Friday night and all. Kingston moved to Thursday Sep 22, that may be my best bet now.
  11. Hey I'm just helping a friend out spread the word about his blog and a little friendly competition he's having with a cash reward. Easy 50 dollars. http://finefitness.ca/?p=891
  12. Joanna Newsom Mogwai Sam Amidon Austra Timber Timbre
  13. Edited. I'll probably be hitting those two, spots are always available Brad
  14. Heya, Here is something of mine: Of all the places to share things, I'm most nervous to post this here as I know we have some amazing musicians on this board. And like I said it was quite rough and I know I'm not that great of a player as displayed by that flub at 0:44 and the timing of the entire song. But its just something I wanted out of me. Umm..enjoy...maybe?...or plug your ears?
  15. On the comments on Facebook the band said they are working on an Ottawa date.
  16. I'll let the press release do the talking, but it looks like they are going with their friends at Hand Drawn Dracula label. http://handdrawndracula.com/bruce-peninsula-open-flames-and-tour/ Trailers: http://handdrawndracula.com/watch-the-bruce-penisula-trailers/ Bruce Peninsula - In Your Light (Snapshot) Bruce Peninsula - Open Flame (Snapshot)
  17. Oh yeah I forgot to update...yeah I didn't trade back. I kept it and he respected the decision (obviously). That being said I am in the market for a good amp for this tele. Something that I can get a good variety of tones out of.
  18. HI there, Anyone know of a good place or person to rent a video projector from (in Ottawa)? I need one for Saturday badly. Doesn't need to be top of the line, just something that has RCA-inputs. Gracias
  19. Since I won't bite for the LG, he put another offer on the table; a Epiphone 335 Dot Cherry finish with a hard case and some cash (amount not specified). hmmm....not sure, while I do like the hard bodies, my heart still lies with this Tele.
  20. Hey guys, So this morning the person who sold me that Donahue Tele above, was wondering if I would be willing to sell it back. He says he is willing to trade for one of his Godin LGs that have more pickup options and better value, but he is willing to take the loss to get the tele back. Now the thing is, I have grown used to it and really do like it. But I know full-well that I'm not the type of guitar enthusiast who can describe all the techy aspects as to why, in fact I know very little about the guitar itself. But I do jam with it with friends, and was just around the corner to start recording as well. But on the other hand, I feel bad for the guy in that he misses it, ya know. And maybe he sees more value and use for it than I..? Anyways, I suppose the starting point would be for me to a) get some pics of the Godin and if I like what I see try it out to see if it plays to my liking. But I just thought I'd ask you guys what your initial impression would be. And what would you do if you found yourself in this situation?
  21. Some good music at Jacques Cart Parc http://www.canadascapital.gc.ca/canadaday/?m=1&l=2&t=4&sbl=Search Namely Plants at 6, Miracle 6:45, Chad Van 7:30, National Parks Project 8:30
  22. I got there during the last song of EC's encore, so there was no lineup. I didn't think it was too bad when it did get moving and there was ample standing or sitting room for whatever your preference. Yes, they were selling booze.
  23. Only caught the last few EC songs, but oh my lord did Elliot Brood ever bring down that OLG tent. Wow, fantastic show by those three, superb energy and the stage invasion was classic! One of the best shows of this year, on my list.
  24. I thought it had its peaks and its valleys. The Los Lobos cover was great, as was House of Cards. There was also this song where it was quieter and darker, the lights were all blue, more texture-based, damn, that was my favorite of the night. The non-Plant stuff was just alright. Some stuff bored me and I thought Gallow's Pole was going to blow up at the end, but it just faded out.
