  4. Me fav band, The Mars Volta, are playing.
  5. Holy shit, amazing show. So far my favorite of 2009.
  6. Oh not for any particular reason like that. I just like taping shows. They are cool with it, so I always give band copies and they can do what they want with it. :-)
  7. ^ yeah those too, haha to all the all the above Serena Ryder, yes, I missed her at Zaphods in November.
  8. Sooo many good shows coming. I don't even want to start listing because I won't stop but...yeah. Everything for everyone. Like just saw Basia Bulat, Sam Roberts came to town. Then Bruce P is coming tomorrow, Ruby Coast Winter Gloves, Forest City Lovers, then you got CBC doing that Monday thing at Zaphods, Jill Babrber hitting up Black Sheep. Even talking about Black Sheep alone opens up so many more names. Buck 65 at Black Sheep..like whoa. Kathleen Edwards at Bronson. Peter Bjorn and John, HOLY FUCK, BLACK MOUNTAIN. and many many more... Is anyone feeling this time? Wish I wasn't in school haha.
  9. On a quick glance the cheapest seem to be in $30 area, but I'll investigate more. Of course I have, I mean I read your posts. ding ding ding The weirdest thing is that I can't seem to find my familiar dollar stores. You see I hardly go out to shop or go to plazas/markets. I went to my local one a Greenbank square...closed. I went to Bayshore Mall the one is closed there too...for THREE years' date=' haha. I feel so old (except im young). He must be a spy' date=' trying to disguise himself. [/quote'] Haha, nah its for recording live music shows. My mics clip onto glasses' frames, and so the music doctor says I need glasses.
  10. I know its an odd question. I have 20/20 vision, but I am looking for non-pres glasses for stealth recording purposes and I cannot seem to find any for cheap. All the optic stores sell them for the same price as pres glasses so (70-300) pfft no thanks. And all the "off the shelf" style that have markings like +0.25 hurt my eyes, (like I said my eyes are good). Does anyone know anywhere I can buy cheap cheap non-pres glasses in Ottawa? Thanks
  11. She's playing at NAC this Saturday October 25th. Just looking for one ticket (if possible in balcony). Thanks EDIT: I record too, and would gladly get you a copy of the show. :content:
  12. Hey guys, I was looking to videotape a show at Algonquin College on Monday and needed a tripod. Was just wondering if anyone here happened to have a spare or old one? Or if not, perhaps you know where I could buy one relatively cheap. Thank you
  13. I attended quite a few shows and workshops. So on Fri night I had to catch the awesome Dala girls. Followed by a great set by Broken Social Scene. I filmed the first 35ish minutes but then battery died, all while rolling audio too, so my audio recording continued. However, near the end of the show I had to get a move on so the sound gets progressively worse. Saturday was a great morning, with the Sadies bros jamming at the Tree Stage, missed first 10/15minutes but taped rest. Then onto the Beach Stage with the "Cheesey" songs, which was all around just a funny workshop. Finally moved to Hill Stage to catch Dala girls again with Doug Cox. Then Saturday night I caught (and taped) the Sadies show, which was probably the most energetic and fun show of the festival. Just all out nuts on the dance floor. Sunday morning I missed the majority of '20 Something' workshop which had Dala and Spiral Beach together. Aeril and Maddy did an awesome Animal Collective cover as well as part of Radiohead's 2+2=5. Which we chatted about Radiohead for quite some time after. (Lots of performers, who are from Toronto area, were bummed that they missed Fri night show @ Molson). Then onto Hill Stage again for Dala and Radoslav Lorkovic. I wantd to come back to catch Spiral Beach's full electric set at Dance tent, but I ended up taking a nap at home and missed it, haha. It was my first time at the festival and it was way beyond my expectations. Had a lot of fun.
  14. Dala - an amazing folk duo. Their harmonies and voices are surreal live. Justin Nozuka - excellent upcoming artist, he now has a permanent band and they are great live. Blends everything like R&B, Rock, and Soul.
  15. Huge Volta fan here. Specifically live they are just amazing. Im a big live collector.
