  1. Badams has a cup story involving Kirk Muller and River Phoenix but he probably doesnt remember the night very well. I believe beer may have been involved.
  2. Neidermayer played tons of minutes every game and against the opponents top lines as much as possible, not too mention having to deal with Pronger suspended twice and his number one goalie missing a couple of games. They also won the Stanley Cup. Its obvious to me who was more important to their team.
  3. While that may or may not be true, it doesnt mean he was the most valuable.
  4. We'll be there on Saturday for a bit.
  5. Dont read much from Toronto or Montreal, eh? I dont think Alfie deserved that award.
  6. ::waits for an inappropriate and unfunny response from BradM::
  7. Thanks Einstein. Like that doesnt happen every year!
  8. As for Leaving Beirut, about the only thing I liked was the storyboard presentation but that song blew chunks. The anti-war message was forced down our throats too much and was a slap in the face to the audiences intelligence. Something a bit less contrived would have serviced much better.
  9. I am ever so sorry my friends but try to take this to heart if you already havent, and I am sure you have. This is STILL a young team (how the fuck is that even possible?). The core has gone under major changes in the past few years and now will come to rely on the shoulders of Spezza, Heatley and Emery. This series wont soon be forgotten and no matter what anyone says, they learned a shitload. That being said. I didnt see tonight's game. Best of luck until we get to the point that I really start hating you as a divisional rival. As a Habs fan, I have given up that playoff spot to you for almost a decade.
  10. ***MAJOR SPOILERS IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO GO SEE ROGER WATERS** Rather than make this a review, I would like to offer up my most sincere and humble apologies to Willy, Ollie et al for riding your asses because of the lip-synching that goes on. His voice must be stacked during some of the parts (Have A Cigar quickly comes to mind) but let the record show that he does harmonize with these sounds. We certainly weren’t in a position to see what was going on but we were in some of the best seats in the house as far as I am concerned. Being 2 rows back on the second level and dead center presented us with one of the best aural experiences these ears have EVER heard in a live setting. This is easily in my top 5 sounding shows. At no point was it apparent tickets would fall into my lap because I was never interested to see a concert that, seemingly felt, was inherently flawed. More wrong should I never be again. This couldnt be re-produced in my living room, as I so blindly suggested. Luckily a friend had an extra in a setting that seemed conducive to showing me why folks on this board were so gung-ho about Roger Waters in concert. Upon taking our seats, giggles flew around at the setup. Speakers hanging above the center of the crowd were in all directions. The cable lines alone produced unwavering laughter. The stage appeared to host a gigantic bottle of scotch, a half-full glass, an FM radio and a plane, which may or may not take off at some point during the night. Little did our sober minds know this was not the real stage but rather a gigantic screen that hosted said images. A moment of realization came once the nonset music shut down and the concert was about to start. The house lights turned down and songs were coming from direct center and loud. I remember hearing My Funny Valentine, an Elvis song and a couple of others. We only heard bits of each song because a gigantic hand came in to turn the dials. That’s when we realized “This is a fucking BIG screen!†Any football coach should have witnessed this from our vantage point. Their philosophy on play calling would immediately be changed forever. Finally the intro notes to the real show came in and we were off in some quasi-defined surround sound that only grabbed your imagination the louder it got. By the time they finished Dark Side Of The Moon, we believed that second set lasted only 15-20 minutes. This was one of those concerts that tricks you into thinking you are high. I am a convert to the live Roger Waters experience and I would love to see another show with those mentioned above. Call me if you ever need a fool. Hell, let’s go right now. Thank ya’ll for selling it so very well. It was an expensive ticket but easily well worth the price. Heck, I made money! By the end of the first song we were in the flesh for doubling-down and that score would have been two-fold.
  11. The bold part in Kev's world means that Alfie is a cheap hitter from behind.
  12. Looks like it is awesome for me Whitey: TSN - The Toronto Maple Leafs and forward Nik Antropov have agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth over $4 million US.
  13. Davey, look up three posts above yours.
  14. Kev, I have come to a conclusion. You dont watch hockey. Obviously the tv is on and its probably an excuse to drink beer and smoke bongs but you arent paying attenion. Rather than get in the multitudes of reasons as to how I have determined this, I will address your latest comment regarding dressing McGratton. He will NOT be dressed and do you want to know why? Primarily due to his lack of skating and speed. Have you not seen Anaheim play at all? Oh wait. We already figured that out.
  15. Sure there are but they are mainly known as biased Leaf fans. I'm not a Sens fan but I can at least cut through the obvious crap. He's a master of hitting from behind? Are you fucking kidding me?
  16. That is a really pathetic list Jakis. First off, that hit on Tucker was clean. Only Leaf fans whine about it AND he went on to score the winner. True grit and passion in my eyes. Alfie 1 Leaf fans 0. Mocks Sundin is on the list? Bwahahaha. Alfie 2 Leaf Fans 0. Fake tomahawks Domi? Wicked. More tears for Leaf fans. Alfie 3 Leaf fans 0. Wait. I am seeing a pattern with this so-called list. Weakly played Jakis and the sure sign of a Leaf whiner. Rather typical in fact. The only thing that really stands out in his career is this Niedermayer issue and I am not about to make any apologies or excuses for that. It looks bad and will taint his character. The rest of it is fine. A high stick and a poorly positioned play on Tallinder? That happens to every hockey player but the timing on the Tallinder one is certainly a play he wishes he could have back. Try whining on a Leaf board where you might actually find some support.
  17. Remind me not to call either you or Dinghy if I need a public relations advisor. Of COURSE he is going to say it wasnt on purpose!
  18. Rumour has it Antropov has re-signed for 2 years and that JFJ is about to get an extention. This would be great news!
  19. I can smell the irony from here!!
  20. To recap, Alfie is going to have his leadership questioned for years to come because of what is perceived to be a stupid move. Personally, I think the following was the stupidest move last night (talking about Niedermayer):
  21. I can smell my boner from here!! ::pm's Dima:: 8 June Silver Dollar I would hit that bar by 5pm for whatever grub they wanted to serve me. Else, I would try my damnest to ensure I didnt drink 10 beers before the band hit their first note (soundcheck for the rest of you lost dweebs). And that would not be easy.
