Crazy day on Saturday at the Fweedom Festival - great vibes all around - people came out in droves - at one point the park at and estimated 15,000 people. We all wondered what it would be like if the weather wasn't calling for rain all day. It was great to see so many people dancing and having a great time - Sarahbelle, O'Hickster, Large Marge, Jakob and many others i am sure I am forgetting - I enjoyed myself a bit too much ~ feeling extra slow today. this sunday may 4th, 3 to 9pm promise ambient cherry blossom picnic at high park Every year at this time the cherry trees in High Park come into amazing full bloom just for a few resplendent days and then the blossoms all blow away. We invite you to enjoy a really nice day on the cherry blossom hillside with us for an ambient music picnic. It’s a great little grove of trees in the park, looking west over Grenadier pond and it’s a great place to enjoy with music. Obviously, for this weekend, the event is weather dependent. The weather is supposed to be nice on Sunday, but it could rain. If it does, we won’t be able to go ahead with it. Check email or call the info line at 416.461.4939. We’ve held this event for three years now and it has been surprising to see how many people in the city just migrate to the cherry trees each year for the beauty of it – there were even people painting the blossoms in past years. A venerable tradition of cherry blossom festivals exists all over the world - in San Francisco, Washington and, most notably, in Japan where there are hundreds of celebrations between January and June.
