  1. Nope, but I read a round-by-round account and saw a ton of highlights - I also had to work. By all accounts, Trinidad was slow, old and really rusty. I did see the Molitor fight however. He had his hands full.
  2. Jones wins a 12 round decision. Yawn. The Steve Molitor IBF Junior Featherweight title defense was really good tonight. Kudos to TSN for airing the fight live and in HD.
  3. Hmm, you may be the only person that thinks the middle guy is bald. Receeding hair-line yes, but hair more or less intact.
  4. I scanned this prom picture of the last mystery boy:
  5. I have no idea who the first two are, but the last dude still wears the same glasses, making it pretty easy... although he looks sober in the photo, which threw me off a bit.
  6. Lewis kicked ass in the flawed but still good film Gangs of New York. The man needs to act more, but he doesn't want to. I guess less is more.
  7. I'm dying to see it. I love westerns and Daniel Day Lewis is the best screen actor in the world.
  8. That was what I was trying to imply. CanCon has something to do with their video airplay, but rock is making a commercial comeback thanks to indie rock, so I'm not totally shocked The Trews get some run on Much and MuchMore.
  9. From my work perspective, The Trews are one of the only harder-edged rock bands of substance that MuchMusic plays on a regular basis. There's hope yet for this world.
  10. I know Jay fairly well - I was in the RTA program with him at Ryerson. Just an educated guess, but I think he distanced himself with Jambands.ca because the genre it promotes unfairly branded his band Uncle Seth. I've never confronted him about this (I never really see him anymore), but I think I'm right to some extent.
  11. Maybe the most underrated sportscaster in the country, and one of the least appreciated/recognized. Don was the best multi-purpose broadcaster this country has seen, period. R.I.P.. Fuck cancer.
  12. Geez, I like this song/video "Pasadena" by indie rokcers Modern Skirts. I will explore their music further in the future.
  13. A rare night of good music tonight at work. MuchMusic's The Wedge program just finished airing Iron and Wine's "Boy with a Coin". Before that was a great tune by The Fiery Furnaces. Coming up after the break is "One Big Holiday" by My Morning Jacket followed by a video by Great Lake Swimmers. Earlier in the night I watched the recent private Radiohead TV concert "Scotch Mist". I love Radiohead's return to guitar-centric rock and Yorke's playing has never sounded more ballsy and confident.

I agree you drunked fool, Little Britain is a good one. It's very fucking funny. It also airs uncut on Showcase.
  15. I like the Sanctuary name and domain. I have issues with Jambands.ca as a name.
  16. I can't wait to read what great Phish song POG hates. I remember talking to him when Round Room came out (an album he told me that he really liked) and he said that his least favourite Phish album was Billy Breathes... or was it Farmhouse? Regardless, those are the only two consistently listenable studio releases in their spotty cannon.
  17. The new single "Hold Me in Your Arms" begs for a kick ass guitar solo, but it's still a pretty good song. Nice riffs.
  18. Well done! I kinda like The Trews to boot!
  19. I fucking love the Pre-war blues genre. Nicely done! 336. Pre-war blues songs about death, without repeating an artist or song. 1. Leadbelly - Death Letter Blues 2. Blind Lemon Jefferson - See That My Grave Is Kept Clean 3. Robert Johnson - Dead Shrimp Blues 4. Tommy Johnson - Big Road Blues 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12.
  20. Hey Mike, I know you have the name tied up in advertising banners and various bands' managment etc..., but will there ever be a time when you change the name of this site? I'm not the only one that thinks the name Jambands.ca stereotypes the website, fairly or unfairly. I realize there's a brand tie-in particularly with the U.S. counterpart, but this site as it exists right now, is a far cry from the Phish/Dead-centric site of the past. Jam band as a genre has been dying a slow death since Jerry's death.
  21. How about something simple: Skank Sub-forums?
  22. Another thing core Rush fans have in common is their belief that Neil Peart is the greatest drummer of all time.
  23. I like every Rush album up to Moving Pictures. I dislike almost everything after Signals, although some songs after MP are pretty good here and there.
  24. I wonder if Geddy will give up his "better than Basher's" Jays seats when Rush hits the road this tour?
