  1. That's very true zero; not unlike Samantha Ronson's celebrity.
  2. Enjoy Ontario's best month while I'm gone. I'm off to France, Italy, Germany (Oktoberfest in Munich, Berlin and exploring Bavaria), hitting some pubs in Amsterdam and then back to Paris for a week. I'll be gone until October 4th. I'm actually not overly excited about the trip because my cat Maebe is dying of congestive heart failure and we are boarding her at a cat hospital for the duration of our trip. At least she'll have good medical care while she's there. I hope she doesn't take a turn for the worse while I'm gone, but she's looking good right now. Anyway, I am looking forward to swilling beer with fat lederhosen-wearing Germans, heckling the Pope, taking the piss out of American tourists, rolling stoned out hippies, keeping my wife away from Amsterdam's red-light district, drinking wine, drinking beer, drinking more wine and then drinking more beer... oh, and experiencing history.
  3. Be that as it may KK, but if you like rough hockey, the Leafs will at least deliver in that department. If you like scoring and close games, well, you can always wait until HNIC's late game.
  4. Who's your goon? Wayne Primeau?
  5. Of course, this is a silly short-sighted attitude by cashiers since they handle all kinds of filthy coke-infested money all day long.
  6. I think the best grocery store non-bag option are the grocery bins, but I don't see them for sale much anymore. Of course, they are made of plastic and making them can't be good for the environment...
  7. Ha ha! True. Somehow, Allison still had a good knack for the net.
  8. I don't. I go to The Big Carrot (organic store) and occasionally Loblaws. It doesn't matter what store it is though.
  9. Here's something that irks me: Why is it when you bring your own cloth bags to a grocery store (and they can be the same ones sold at the store you are in) the cashier rarely bags your groceries. Is this too tough for them? Is it a mangerial policy? I don't get it.
  10. Allison had a string of bad luck - on multiple levels - when he retired young. It's a nice story and he seems healthy, and if there's a team that needs good hands and scoring, the Leafs are it. He was a good offensive player - but very slow - when he played, so we'll see how he can adjust to this new NHL (being 4 years older can't make you suddenly faster). Still, he's a longshot at best, even when he's trying to make the worst offensive team.
  11. If you don't want to use cloth bags, you can always wash your plastic grocery, freezer and sandwich bags. Throwing out plastic bags after one or two uses is foolish (unless you have a pet or two). Oh yeah, folks can always wash cloth bags if you buy-in to what the plastic bag lobbyists are saying about bacteria.
  12. I believe each case fell under different jurisdictions. I'm not sure if Vick was a state or federal case. I believe Plaxico's case was state and NY takes a pretty hard line when it comes to weapons offenses. If Plaxico can accidently shoot himself, then he could easily accidently shoot someone else. No matter. Mancuso said the Jets will try to sign him when he gets out.
  13. exaclty why i think something doesnt add up about the story booche.. i mean the guy shot himself.. big f'n deal in the grand scheme of things. if it was truly just a dumb accident they would go to trial and get a slap on the wrist' date=' not take 2 years. [/quote'] His gun wasn't registered. Anyone in NYC that gets caught with a unregistered gun that goes off, whether accidently or otherwise, gets time. A NYC beat reporter, WFAN's Mike Mancuso, was on the FAN 590 today and repeated this fact. It's not as if PB couldn't afford a good lawyer. The plea was a good one.
  14. If I can't watch The Daily Show and the more consistently funny Colbert Report, I record both on my PVR or watch it at midnight. However, you can also try to watch both shows on the east coast feed or catch it the next day on Comedy - I believe they air in the morning and later that same day.
  15. [color:purple]Unfortunately, I'll be in Europe.
  16. I've never heard of this Nikki person, but I do indeed hate that fucking smug-faced hack Diana Krall.
  17. Historically, the music industry has always had bubble-gum and bad teeny-bopper acts. Today is no different, although the sexualization of many of today's young artists is disturbing. Forget teen pop though; I find teens in general an abomination.
  18. Very true. Although after seeing them recently I can safely say that the new incarnation is fantastic...best Rocking Horse I have ever seen. (out of the 15 or so I have seen) The thing about Woody was that he was an adventurous and often punishing and agressive lead bassist - like he was channeling Berry Oakley (although Woody was a superiour musician). And Woody was every bit Haynes' equal and every bit his rival. The tension their respectful rivalry brought was indeed exciting. I saw it many times, and it was even there in the ABB.

And bouche posted a topic about Shaq and Ollie and AD love F-1. What's going on?
  20. The original Mule rocked. None of the post-Woody incarnations can touch the power of the orignal trio.
  21. I've been investigating Attack in Black's music for an hour today. I really like this Welland band, and it doesn't really bother me too much when they sometimes back Dallas Green's side project, City in Colour.

It was great, but it doesn't top Sunday's twofer, IMO - especially Yang's performance in the PGA Championship.

you really need the IMO next to your posts Jaimoe. you're starting to get into BasherGuarantee territory. I mostly always mean IMO, but seeing Tiger blow a lead - in a Major no-less - and Bolt shattering his own world record, all on the same day, is tough to beat. Here's hoping Halladay pitches a no-hitter tonight.

Last Sunday was by far the best day of sports this entire summer. Cudos to the CBC for cutting away from regularly scheduled programming to bring us the 100 metre race live. Oh yeah: Fuck Tiger.
  25. And to my dying day I know that nero put on the better of the two shows (on that night). Moe. was too ravey and far too Al. nero rocked it out in a Jeff Beck hard rock kind of way.
